  1. If you have the "Noob" variety with a DG2813, the same movement or the better DG4813 (high beat) can be had from Ofrei. If you have a movement with complication (Asian copy ETA with GMT or Jump Hour, etc), they can be sourced from Jay (Silix) or Peter (Watchstation). In Toronto, you can get DG2813's from Perrin, but not the 4813.
  2. Back seats good...sit back and let me take you for a tour by guiding you here:
  3. Some had them...some didn't. Don't ask me why.
  4. Do a search for 3717 pics here...and try adding in V1 in the search string. There are lots of pics of the 3717 on this forum...so you'll see lots of pics of the datewheel. The main thing is it should be white on black...then the font thing may or not be an issue for you...depending on how anal you are.
  5. Those are nice pics. Well done. 14 days by Registered is not bad at all. I've had stuff come by EMS that have taken that long due to Customs delays.
  6. Welcome aboard. There's a lot of info here...and it can get daunting. I suggest you read my Noob Guide. You may or may not be interested in a lot of the crazy technical stuff in there...but the buying process and what to expect sections will be of help. The Twirl can be had from some of the trusted dealers out there...but I don't recall seeing any detailed reviews of it. It looks to be a low cost rep (around $100), so if you buy from the collectors here, you can't really go wrong. It's a quartz movement so it should be reliable. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of ladies watch reviews here...but hey...you could be the first??
  7. Great story. Let me be the first to welcome you aboard. You've got the questions...we've got the answers. I wrote this guide just for you: As to buying gen parts from Ofrei...maybe yes...maybe no. Search on the forum here for what others have been able to work in successfully and read this post for more info: New Super-Reps are Called 1:1...What Does That Mean?
  8. Agreed. As to the vanilla rubber smell on a Tag...if they want that, just hang around in taxis more with their overload air fresheners.
  9. Welcome aboard. You came to the write spot. Check out my Noob Guide...I wrote it just for you.
  10. I think that's most people here that lurk rather than post. Some have said what's the point in posting if you don't have much of value to say...I say screw it and spew verbal overload like there's no tomorrow.
  11. Great write up. I love this watch.
  12. @Section8 - That wristshot is amazing @Lani - Great UPO shots...those are like catalogue pics
  13. Currently? Probably...which is why some senior folks have been having problems swapping in ETA parts when they were working on ETA stamped movements before it was widely known that there were ETA branded ETA copies.
  14. Nice pic...I used to have wallpaper...but now with 32 windows open at a time across 2 large monitors...I have a black background. No kids pics even!!! I do collect wallpaper snaps though!!
  15. Dude...you are so ready to snatch flies with chopsticks. It brings a tear to my eye. >sniff<
  16. ...but the subdial SPACING is still wrong. It's a great watch though!!
  17. Ooooh Replicacenter...they are notorious. Search for them here...many people here have bought or almost bought from them. They deliver...but at a HUGE PRICE!!!
  18. I went to a couple pawn shops on Queen E. that had some Omega POs, AP ROOS...they were crap. At least the shops weren't trying to sell them as reps.
  19. Did you ever get this sorted out?? I would like to add it to my Omega SMP review for reference if there is a definitive answer?
  20. It does sound like he's more into the bling-watches. So you might be safe with something sportier that may not be of interest to him like ana Omega, Tag or something like that. Stay away from Rollies!
  21. ...WELL...judging by YOUR standards they're not that good. But your "crap" shots are better than 90% of the standard populations "keepers".
  22. I don't know the answer...but hey...nice pics.
