  1. But that 6.75 caseback smokes!! I can't wear anything that big though. The Chrono Avenger is pretty slick. I'm not sure if they make it in Ti anymore but brushed steel...not sure: The SOH on Ocean Racer rubber is pretty nice. I'm not a big fan of the mesh bracelet: I'm assuming you've read the Breitling guide.
  2. There you have it!! That's how we roll here...
  3. You have hope. You have found Salvation. I wrote this guide just for you: Welcome aboard...now you can let the fun begin and learn from your mistake!
  4. Only in the limited Blacksteel. The regular SA has like you said, the non-split Arabic markers...while the Skyland has the split or stencil markers.
  5. It depends on what they call full service. A REAL full service (i.e. full breakdown, cleaning, reassembly with oiling) takes a few hours, and is about $200+ CDN. It seems expensive to some that haven't had a gen serviced before...but remember, this will give you 5 years+ of RELIABLE service. Some simple dip lube servicings by people who are not really versed in 7750 movements (gen or rep) can be had for $50 CDN and are not recommended by The Zigmeister at all. Read my Noob Guide for some links to power reserve and other A7750 posts: Thomson Highway on this board can do it in Europe. The standard/benchmark is around 40hrs of power reserve. I have one that needs servicing that only lasts around 30hrs...I'll get it done in the future as I consider 30hrs good enough for now.
  6. Aaaah...Young Padawan...that is why you joined RWG and not the other boards. The Super Avenger has a similar dial to the Skyland. The BIGGEST difference is the footprint. The SA is 48.4mm in diameter and almost 19mm thick...while the Skyland is only 45mm wide and 17.4mm thick. There are subtle dial differences...red subdial hands vs. white. You are correct...the non-limited, regular SA has the solid numbers...but they went split for the tactical look with their blackened steel look. Even though the hour marker dial font is similar, based on size, there is no mistaking the 2.
  7. Are you sure you need rubber? I would suggest a BCE for that different dial layout...or possibly a Navitimer.
  8. I'm with you on that one...can't decide which one. I want one with a display back...but the wathces I want that use one, don't have a display back.
  9. SICK!!!! Nice. I wish I didn't have girly wrists and could sport one of these! Did you get it from La Suisse??
  10. Thanks to Admin for the quick fix once The Zigmeister and I noticed the problem!!
  11. Hey AJS...good to see you back! How are things? I reposted your mother of all tutorials with pictures...hope you don't mind the very minor edits. If you're wondering how to shave the stem...check out AJS' post that I reposted with pics!!
  12. Just buy her a couple watches as well...and you'll be fine!
  13. Love it! I especially like that serial number plaque shot...and the macro dial shot. Great stuff!!
  14. Was it always like this...or did this just start happening? Does the stem work properly before the crown guard is applied? I'm no watchsmith, so I'm hoping the real modders can step in and correct me. Would shaving the stem down a bit work? Or, is it better to loosen the crown guard? I'm assuming you want the crown guard tight given most people complain of loose ones.
  15. Welcome aboard. There is lots to read. To help you on your journey...I wrote this post just for you:
  16. What can you get for a left nut these days? I'm eyeing a new watch.
  17. Assuming everything was packaged as the vendor requested...you should be fine. If it was sent by airmail...I usually say between 3-5 weeks for delivery...add in repair time, and return shipping...it's usually a 2 month process or so for the repair before you get your watch in hand. In Canada, I've had stuff sitting with CDN customs for over a week. And yes...they will notify you if things are seized.
  18. It might be still...just get it tested...and you'll know for sure. Testing will not harm the watch if done properly.
  19. Updated today with improved order, some edits, and links to the newly re-released The Zigmeister tech info posts based on user feedback. That's right...you speak up...and I listen...if I feel like it.
  20. You have to find a watchmaker who's willing to test a rep. Most in a big store or mall will do it for payment...and tell you that it won't pass because it's a rep. Just make sure to tell them it's a rep up front, otherwise they may try to test it immediately to the full rating of the gen which will likely fail.
  21. Good question. I wrote this guide just for you...look for the part in the post on water resistance:
  22. I think it's because there aren't enough real men out there...only people who think they are. For more info...read my review.
  23. There's nothing really to show. When the strap initially arrived, the black latex on the sides was applied reasonably neatly, but spilled over from the edge to the inside surface maybe 0.2mm (??). I just took my fingernail and scratched along the inside surface (light brown branded side) close to the lip of the edge, and off scraped the overlapping excess in little strings. We'll see if that helps...only time will tell as you have demonstrated.
