No sweat...just was a bit confused. I am more than willing to defer judgement to the man with the watches in hand!! Are these things light like Ti? Somebody in the other thread on the Ti 177's posted that they thought they were heavy like SS and did not think they were actual Ti. If you did the Ti oxidization...I'm assuming yours are the real deal.

Fantastic man...you really bring out the beauty in these things. That blue or black dial with the white subdials is amazing looking.

It depends on why it's not advancing. Usually, it's a quick fix regardless of the movement. If the movement does need fixing, replacing with another asian movement is a quick fix too...with the labour costing about 5x the cost of the movement!! Going from Asian to Swiss movements though is more work because of datewheel issues, dial mounting and more importantly, hand sizes. Hands though are easy to come by, and most watchsmiths LIKELY carry an assortment of diver watch hands...BUT, the DSSD has blue lume...that's an issue.

Thanks for that Lani. HackR and I have been having a conversation about this...so this looks great. I don't know how you can pop off such great photos so quickly...amazing. Excuse my Pam Noob question here but I thought the little spring clip thing pressing on the regulator highlighted by the arrow below was the swan neck (shows you my technical understanding of this). I don't see that clip in the movement shots you took. Am I missing something??

I was reading some threads awhile back that they weren't around as much. Whether or not this was true, it appears to not be the case. Either way, Angus seems to have the same watch for a $120 premium!!

Not as far as I know. Asian hand winds with Swan Neck. I was under the impression that the swan neck wasn't showing up as much in the PAM's these days...maybe I was wrong.

Somebody over at RG had the whole watch for $350...that to me is the better deal!!

Nice stuff. I had shot a little LF 8x10 Sinar in a studio doing commercial stuff YEARS ago. Nothing interesting...just ceiling fans and catalogue product.

I have no idea how much these are. It seems the SS 111's without the PANERAI PANERAI PANERAI bridges and without the swan neck are about this price...so with the better movement and in Ti it seemed not too bad.

You might be able to source just the dial from one of the vendors.

Andrew's got some new pieces listed. Solid Ti cases with engraved bridges and Swan Neck Regulators. Nice!! I couldn't tell you how accurate the dials are...but hey...for $178??

Aaah...then you misunderstand a large portion of why this community exists. It is there for info exchange on cheaper watches...but more importantly it is a Community of WATCH enthusiasts first...not just deal finders...but watch hobbyists. Part of the passion generated by the hobby is tinkering...and that tinkering leads to modding for aging, getting that little bit more accuracy through custom machining, sourcing gen parts and/or doing whatever it takes to go that next level. Some Franken reps cost more than some people's cars with movements ALONE (not counting base watch, time, shipping, etc) costing $1500. In some cases, the reps being created are of watches costing $100K (e.g. Rolex Single and Double Reds, 6541's, etc)...so creating a $4000 masterpiece is still leagues shy of the gen cost...if you could even find one for sale! RWG exists as a group of folks who love watches...and that's why people stick around here because the rest of the world is happy with their Timex's.

Movement spacer ring can be a bit tight to get settled into the case right. It likely needs to set lower down in the case (towards the crystal). Play with that for a bit to see if it fits better. The groove for the stem is quite large so just because the stem aligns doesn't mean it is seated properly. The movement may site tight with the case with the crown on also because it may be screwed into the case via the tube. Another sign of improper seating may be gaps between the dial and the other rings from the crystal view.
