  1. Wow, I go away for a couple of days and this even is highly organized. I am sure it is somewhere in this thread but I have wo questions. Where is Otto's and how many folks are bringing significant others?
  2. I would guess it is not based on the crown hole and lever placement. But how you guys definitely tell via pictures has always amazed me. I am traveling at the moment wearing a Jimmy as I write this and I am having to stare very hard. B- By the comment on feel I assume it has smooth motion so it may have a pin sleeve. But IMHO it is an excellent cg.
  3. B- Looks great - wear that one well. I am wearing the same thing as I write this. Great minds think alike.
  4. The Chinese are getting good? Check out the Seagull double tourbillon. I was on Cathay in the business lounge and they had an ad for that watch in the front of the luxury magazine. The watch now proudly states "quality since 1955". When they want to be they can be better than anyone else. Now would somebody please tell me if the bezel mechanism is any good?
  5. Personally, I think you end up with two different straps. On the 187 I would stick with Rubber. You could try a legend strap but in general I wouldn't deviate from the leather. On the 217 here is my latest favorite strap for my Marine Militare and I use it on my Fiddy as well. That one is from tootall and is very reasonably priced.
  6. It looks great. I am preparing to give in. Can you tell me how firm the bezel mechanism is? Does it have firm clicks and not too much play in between settings? Actually I would love to hear from anyone who owns the current Skylans.
  7. Well, if it is Josh he certainly has improved his english.
  8. I have seen the gen black steel and the finish is stunning (really almost grey). And as a result the dial "jumps out" of the watch. The finish from the pics above (but of course who can tell from pics) looks very different. Irrespective of who makes the watch (Factory 1 or 2) I am assuming it will need an entirely different finishing. And I agree that they are two very different watches. If you are not a breitling fanatic I almost feel like you don't need the ss if you have an ultimate evo and you think twice about buying the blacksteel (unless it is absolutely perfect) if you own an old school chrono ti.
  9. There are exceptions to every rule but yes it should. You will also need hands from a low beat unless you have a watch smith who can adapt the hands.
  10. . Not even the manufacturers know what all the other manufacturers are doing - never mind the dealers.
  11. This is one of the few gen breitlings I have been excited about in quite a while (since I don't see a Bentley in my future anytime soon). And yes, my biggest concern is the case finish. They need to change the nickname though. Everytime I read "black steel" I think of the fabulous "blue steel" look in Zoolander.
  12. Beautiful watch. Wear that one well.
  13. Folks may have already discovered this but here is the first I have seen of the recent Panerai gen upgrades on reps. The first rep with the new strap changing system. I suspect the new deployant buckle will not be far behind. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=80142&hl= Just when we thought Panerai reps were down for the count.
  14. Congrats. I know how much pleasure you will get wearing it. And needless to say it looks great.
  15. I am a big fan of Stefan but I would like to see part 1 first.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Take your time. Decide what model you want and do a search. There are all kinds of reviews for most watches and you can hopefully save yourself some time and heartache. And when you get your first rep I hope you will post your own review.
  17. Welcome to the forum. As I am sure you know the secs at 12 AP ROO is now out. We have been waiting for that one for quite a while. The HBB's are readily available ranging from a true ceramic bezel for $1,000 to HBB lites with PVD bezels for $300. And there are innumerable models in between. The Mats (Plat Mat, Gold Mat) and monster King's are now out as well. Virtually all dealers are stocking them these days and any dealer on the forum should be able to help you. Take a little while and read as there are so many offerings and in different versions.
  18. I am still waiting for the person who posts "I have the car deciding whether to wear the watch." I am also waiting for the guy who actually owns a Bentley or a Ferrari and also owns the watch. If I conclude I want the watch without owning the car I would buy it. It is not like you are staring at some huge horse or huge spokes on the back. Seriously, Dave - the watch looks really good and I can't wait to see it on a strap. That may be the determining factor for me. I am loving the case and the dial but I agree the bracelet is a turn-off.
  19. It should be. In general better Breitlings have been fully compatible since the original ti Chrono Avenger. Great pics and I officially give in. One last question though. How good is the bezel mechanism? Is there a lot of play or does it click into place?
  20. Based on the looks on the faces of Putin and Bush as they were chatting before the Olympics ceremony began no one looked particularly perturbed. I think this one dies down. Although Russia is heading back to the way it was (nationalizing all businesses, consolidating power, etc.) from what I read it sounded like Georgia was the aggressor. But who knows.
  21. Genuine. Crown and setting on case is too good. If I am seeing the picture correctly there are no rings around the hour markers (difficult to do and only aware of two folks that have done that) and I have never seen that particular case back number and this is not one that ever had unique serial numbers. You do always have to wonder about the hour hand set at "7" If you really are considering buying it and the price rises significantly than ask for a bigger picture of the dial.
