Excellent review. Much thanks. As always there are elements of one step forward and one back. The loose bezel and it's alignment and mediocre crown guard is now all too common on the PAM's. The frustrating thing is the early submersible reps did have bezels which have the same level of hold and alignment of the gen - original 24A, original 187, etc. The later submersible reps I have seen have a much cheaper feeling bezel ratchet mechanism. I know this varies by manufacturer and I have no idea who makes what. The CG thing is puzzling to me as well as they have gone backwards not forwards. It is great to hear the whole date and magnification issue continues to improve. I assume they are using the same Sandwich combo for the crystal/cyclops. And the one issue I can never figure out is whether the dial is the right color and the subseconds is the right texture (concentric or not) or sheen. Great review though.

I think it is bad luck on your particular CD. Although it is certainly not wood it wasn't so obvious on my back. There are no bubbles. I would say to ask the dealer for another caseback but your solution is a lot better.

135 emails is pretty damn impressive.

I prefer the 164 from an aesthetic perspective but I couldn't live without the date.

I will start wearing mine again shortly. I have one more issue to try and resolve with my mods and than it will be good to go. I do still like the watch but in the interim have been focusing my 47mm attention on vintages.

I have received all emails and PM's. Please read the first post again. The seller has an additional 20 or so. My intention is to receive the next batch in the next couple of days, inspect them (I have had a couple of bad ones) and than notify people and request payment.

I thought we already had a working moonphase in those Patek reps.

With the Cousteau at 44mm, Slevin at 42mm and various 3717 versions at 42mm done as well as a bunch of 40mm's I would not hold my breath for a good version.

Tourby- That looks fabulous. I have been hoping you would do that size.

You should post the link here so we can take a look. I suspect TTK would like to see it. In reality there is not much that can be done other than to ban the person from the forum if you know who it is. And even if banned here there are three other forums as well as the collectors' sites that the person can use as reference material. It is very bad form though.

The only thing that watch is an homage to is overpriced watches. Other than the fact he has an old movement everything else is wrong. I would also point out that he has no bids. If I owned it for nothing I wouldn't wear it. Madasboot knows where I am coming from on this one.

On the gen the deployant is made out of titanium. What is the buckle on the rep made of?

By the way kudos to everyone on the forum as this has been a highly successful group buy with members buying dozens of crowns -and only one problem which was not the member's fault.

It is the same $67.00. In fact I am about to buy out all but a few pieces from the seller as there has been renewed demand between the new 104 and 22_ automatics. So People should let me know what they want on email at watchmeisters@gmail.com. After this they are gone.

Tourby- My perscription is to to forbid yourself from wearing any PAM's for a couple of weeks. You will see them in a whole different light. :laugh:
