  1. Looks really good. Wear it well. You may have paid more than the gen but I will bet you had a lot of fun along the way.
  2. I know nothing about these things but can we link up with a gambling site such that if you click through RWG gets a piece of the revenue?
  3. Too funny. I hadn't even noticed the strap doesn't fill the lug space. That doesn't really bother me that much. I am much more focused on the fit on my wrist. And on that one it feels robust yet comfortable on the underside. I don't know if it is the wrong size or just small. In a similar vein I have a gen black Pre-V on my radiomir which is truly noticeable but still too cool.
  4. Z- Looking very nice. Wear them well. On the 188 is that the original dial or the revised one?
  5. That is interesting. I know the "wood" is in fact a sticker but mine is in the realm of passable. I wouldn't want someone looking at my caseback under a loupe but it is not so patently obvious. That is just luck I guess.
  6. Yes, the rotating bezel is off on all of them. It is a design flaw in the rep. It will not line up spot on with the rotating bezel's "inverted triangle" pointing between the twelve o'clock markers without leaving the pusher in between clicks. And when you do that dots and numbers inc reasingly misalign with the dial. The manufacturer tried to correct for this mechanical issue by spreading out the "10" and "15" to make it less obvious. Many things are correctable but this is not. The Slevin will have the same issue but on a lesser scale. This particular issue should not in and of itself make it a deal killer. But I would only buy it if you recognize that you may well have $600 or more into it to ensure longevity and reliability.
  7. I don't see the business in general slowing down any time soon. Chinese gov't does care about intellectual property but only when it is theirs or when it impacts profitability on their own businesses. The other thread regarding ceramics for HBB reps being made at the same factory may well make the ceramic HBB's a rarity. But IMHO this is the exception rather than the norm.
  8. If you are determined (and patient enough) to wait for one without problems than your best bet may be to wait for someone wo you know to sell it second hand who can tell you theirs has no problems. Alternatively, if you have a dealer with an ongoing relationship he should remedy the issue if there is a problem. I would not be holding my breath for a better version. You also could wait for the 42mm Slevin and see how that one comes out. My approach on reps is to understand the systemic problems which cannot be fixed (in this case the misalignment of the bezel) and then pick a dealer that will take care of you if there is a problem. That is the risk in reps.
  9. Aren't you glad you got yours. Seriously, unless they can find a way to shut down the factory this is tilting at windmills. Of course Hublot's biggest problem is that other than a unique design there is nothing special about the watch or the movement.
  10. Well here is polished (apparently with gen bezel - ): Now why don't we add a Swiss movement actually made in Switzerland and serviced by Ziggy: I don't see a gen in my future anytime soon.
  11. If it is misaligning the answer is new datewheels. If the day or date is kicking over at the wrong time but consistently than it may be mis-placed hands. If anything else you are probably looking at a service or movement swap. The good news with Ziggy is that he has any part you could possibly need for the 7750's as well as any number of movements he can service and swap in if necessary. But I always vote for Swiss movement swap if you are going to go to the trouble to send it to Ziggy.
  12. Needless to say, great choices. Scholars and gentlemen.
  13. The dust can easily be removed. The misaligned bezel will only be fixed if the factory redesigns the "cog" rotating the inner bezel. It would require either changing the teeth alignment or simply adding more teeth. I don't think that will be fixed out of this particular factory. The only hope is the Slevin which is coming from another better factory. Has anyone gotten one yet. I am eager to see pictures.
  14. And if you still want that Bling in a gen with that sexy crown guard and a touch of understatement try this: I do hope you got a date or phone number out of all your friends efforts.
  15. Oops, now I get it. You are showing a generic actual ETA datewheel which is the same as Ziggy's. So the answer is - yes. It will line up as pictured. All the 7753 PAM's and reps with swiss 7753 movements have the identical movement.
  16. You know where I am on this one. I am in. And there will be at least one great Honpo 187 7753. Ziggy just doesn't know it yet. Or maybe he does. I caught up with Ziggy and he said he would post a pic of a gen generic ETA date wheel this weekend so that should answer your question.
  17. Between these forums and the secret Jaoanese enclaves you are totally covered.
  18. Markers for Honpo or later version? If Honpo than PM me.
  19. I second the JLC's. Of your list I like the Seahawk best. But you have got to come over to our neck of the woods. Things are a lot cheaper given the weakness in the dollar. On the PAM's you can do a hell of a lot better and pick one that will never be repped and is MIB with papers for well under 4,000 Euros.
  20. Very nice collection. Wear them well. I am also coming to the conclusion I have just about all the PAM reps I want as well. But in my case it will take another 2 years to finish modding them.
  21. There really isn't much too say. The blinged ones are ugly. The new models are ugly. Obviously Rolex has taken a substantial turn for the worse. And V, that watch you took the picture of is a woman's watch so that one is for you.
  22. Another fabulous review. Now I just need to remember what watches have or will have this revised movement.
