  1. As I understand it the crown installation did require modest case tube adjustment. What I don't know is whether he had to do anything else. But I know it has been done on numerous GMT's and Power Reserves. I am going to have it done on my 27 but I am waiting until I receive the date wheel you just installed before sending it off.
  2. Or put differently, the hands were put back on the wrong way. It has happened to me recently as well. My date is changing over at 3 am.
  3. I got 2 from PAM straight away. He is not the problem.
  4. Rolli- You know better. This has been asked a number of times before but it is faster to write it than to search for the loop. It is all in the bezel. The new version bezel spreads further (too far) on the case and does not have the right height either overall or on the first inverted angle off the case. If you are looking at a 7753 version you need to make sure the date window is appropriately placed in between the "4" and the "5". Some of the new dials in the new versions are off. Bezel and crystal are not interchangeable. To the positive many of the new versions have "Luminor" inscribed on the case back which is the case with 95% of the gens.
  5. Hey B- Looks really good. Now you just have to PVD that case or swap the dial. Seriously, nice tutorial.
  6. Man, you are the pimp. Thanks gain by the way. And while your at it could you send Cameron my way.
  7. Hey, Even I knew that one. Part number and all.
  8. Nanuq- Have you always been in Admin? Somehow I missed that one.
  9. That is great news. It sounds like you have the version with the correct dial. Who did you get it from?
  10. In truth we are all waiting for the inevitable death. All you can do is service and pray.
  11. Aha, a man who knows his watches. Wear it well.
  12. It might be a good gen to own. I always have this innate fear that I will wake up at 65 with a 44mm PAM on my wrist looking like Flavor Flav (no not our Flav Flav - ). This one should look good trough the ages.
  13. That is a good story but wasn't it kind of obvious when your Nautilus had a second hand? This particular model doesn't (assuming it is the jumbo).
  14. Well my Palp modded 116520 is still working beautifully and for that matter so is my 6263 but then again I would expect no less as it is from Ubi.
  15. Chronus- I think you would get a fair amount of interest. I need to get a 28 done. But I would suggest you check in with Chieftang as last I heard he was pursuing this. I know you know what it should look like in terms of bead blasting (size of beads, length of blasting, etc.) and the proper Tialn process. I don't know if he ever followed through but last I heard he was doing a trial run on one of his own. He found that he had to send it initially to one of the recognized names for bead blasting and had then found a good tialn coating service locally. My 09 should be coming back from Mark shortly and his guy did it exactly right. Jack at IWCC does it properly as well but he has jacked his prices up north of $600.
  16. Actually, I had heard from a couple of folks that the case size is off by 1-2mm. Other people swear this isn't true. Does anyone who owns it know?
  17. I had the same issue where the whole thing stops when the chrono seconds approaches 12. Send it to Ziggy he repaired mine.
  18. Well, if they wait long enough we will give in and buy gens. I am seeing a lot of gens for sale lately and they are not moving. The prices seem to get lower and lower. You can now buy it on a bracelet for less than $3,000 if you look around.
  19. And it didn't even occur to you to start yapping "First time down here can you assist me?" or some crap like that. You would have avoided the potential embarassment and started up that dialogue which you will pursue over the ensuing days.
