  1. So much for needing the Davidsen dial then.
  2. It is a 7753. I would say the all-in is $800-850. On the crown installation I will have to defer to Ziggy when he sees this post (if he does). I do know that he has routinely used stem adapters and different sized stems when fitting all the various crowns I have had him try though. Also, I believe there are two different sized stems which fit 7750's generally. I don't know if this is true for 7753's.
  3. Latest Mods on PAM 188: Ziggy relume and matte spray on dial (at last it doesn't shine), Homer Crown, Finepics datewheel. l
  4. By the way when you get these next two rounds done I think you may be surprised at how many people show up for cyclops friendly process.
  5. Looks great. Glad people are happy. You can't imagine how much time Arch and Ubi spent staring at these things. And they were using a gen as reference. Now if Ubi will ever give me my Red Sub back...
  6. I love it but I can't help myself. This one ships out for relume and movement swap tomorrow. Why? Why not?
  7. To me, the bezel looks too tall. The GMT hand is way off. The date mag looks better than how the other GMT's come when stock.
  8. Then he should no better. I am sympathetic to the no-tracking number issue though.
  9. Yes, I meant 29. I agree on the CG lever. That can be easily remedied but I am holding off until I am sure I am not going to change the crown. I have a close to gen crown coming which very closely mimics the A and B series. Once I decide I will do the final CG adjustment. Has anyone actually bought the Davidsen dial? Any opinions? Does it fit in non-Davidsen cases? Next up in the 2893 will be the 063 with Palp crown, gen hands and new datewheel.
  10. PAM 2893 GMT - Getting Closer to Gen. List of mods: Ziggy relume, Lello 1st gen crown and latest datewheel, jimmy CG, watchmen cyclops. The last remaining issue is whether to replace the dial with Davidsen and relume to "Tritium" specs. Any thoughts? Here is the gen for comparison :
  11. Wow, that is one expensive box. Actually, I would guess he has a watch coming and no money to pay for it. The tricky part for him is the watch shop holding the one for sale is not incentivized to cooperate as it wants to buy it on the cheap.
  12. I thought it had been proven there was no "dagger" swiss.
  13. Frankenwatch or as YM says Marriage watch.
  14. I am good to within a few seconds after two days on a winder.
  15. Gentlemen, please act like gentlemen. I suspect you would trade off personal info for reliable service and pricing.
  16. Just remember. The U.S. is closer. And the price is right.
  17. Seconds at six is a crap shoot. What I elected to do was to be patient and watch offering from other forum members. That way it has passed the passage of time test. I also was able to get it with CG's modded, gen crown and relumed for close to the price of a new one. It still works. But make no mistake - there is a huge element of luck.
  18. But there are 1000m Seikos. They are encased in a titanium alloy. One seller describes it as a tuna can watch because it does look like a tuna can. On gens it is a safe bet that the build quality is better on the higher (lower?) depth rated watches. They also cost more.
  19. Absolutely legit. Michael sells plenty of this stuff at very high prices. But it is all legit.
