  1. Wow, in this neck of the woods you get the baggie (oh I meand original packing which looks no different than the rep packaging).
  2. If I could answer that question I probably wouldn't be here so often. Ubi's Daytona.
  3. Please tell me there is an adult somewhere on that boat. Great pic though.
  4. Well, forget the ballbearing let's start with a proper H crown guard.
  5. I don't know what the technology is on the Ball Engineering watches but the glow is positively nuclear.
  6. Archibald is not a capitalist. He is pissed. Since Lello disappeared almost a year ago, as Archibald mentioned, people have operated in a civilized manner - specifically not trying to undercut one another. There are a number of projects which various folks have backed off of in order to avoid this issue. IMHO, this is not in the spirit of how folks have operated in the recent past of this forum. Although I am sympathetic to Lello and applaud his past efforts, the fact is that the 2892 project was only undertaken because the previous attempt had failed almost 12 months earlier and not to compete.
  7. It wasn't a holy grail until I saw this post. I am indifferent to the "wood" back. Any accurate version would be fine though. I wonder what the timing will end up being.
  8. I always intrepret light AR as either cheap coating or no coating simply showing the slight hue that sapphire shows at certain angles.
  9. Looks great. That is one of next year's projects for me.
  10. I suspect not too many people focus on the women's watches. First, membership is predominantly male. Second, the biggest trend in women's gens is men's watches. Buy her a 40mm PAM or some other smaller Man's watch. By the way the hot watch amongst elegant women (in gen) with wealthy women is the Daytona.
  11. Angus- That is a stunning piece. The Aquatimer Chrono has always been one of my gen favorites. If the rep looks anything like some of the pictures above it could well become one of my rep favorites.
  12. I would amend the poll. Add 20+ and 30+. I suspect most folks who spend a reasonable amount of time here have amassed quite a number of reps. If you are here simply looking for the "best sub" you have probably come and gone.
  13. Now if we can get all the forum members drinking at the same time no one will notice.
  14. Have fun. It should be a lot of fun. If you are going to wear a PAM rep definitely go vintage. But you may want to find out whether anyone from the actual company will be there. After all, there are very few vintages and very many vintage reps.
  15. Looks good. I almost hope this watch comes out next year as my dance card is rapidly filling up.
  16. A real sense of deja vu here. Everyone will develop their own opinion based on experience. In my case, I have found non-chrono 7750's to be fairly solid. I have had bad luck with the older version chronos (although the first problem is always that the second hand or sub-dial hands are not properly attached so they need to be glued on). On the first version 3 out of 4 needed work in very short order. On the later version I have not had any problem. And I now subscribe to the theory of let these movements run until they die. When they die I start looking for a Swiss movement to replace it.
  17. Sennsi- I really like that one too. Ubi- OOps. Does that mean I have to include the 45mm WM as well?
  18. I think the nightclub/hot brand is an excellent analogy. Things are hot as long as demand far exceeds supply. Clearly this was the case for PAM over the first few years. Now Richemont is trying to do the intelligent thing and move it into the mainstream. It a lot easier to have a limited production item achieve hot status. You can relatively easily sell them out. It is interesting that the second-hand market is coming down as the number of pieces in the aftermarket grows. It makes sense as that is true for far more established brands as well.
  19. I look forward to seeing the new straps. Basic black does dress up everything though. Ask your wife.
