Actually rehaut which is way off is fairly obvious as it changes the appearance of the dial and hands beneath the crystal never mind the sizing of the date if it an automatic with date and cyclops.
After speaking to a CNC person I am convinced that Titanium reps never last long because tooling for titanium is different than for Stainless Steel and the moral of the story is that if you like it and it is in titanium either buy it relatively soon after issuance or wait for someone else to get bored with theirs and buy it second hand. Have you ever noticed there are very rarely second gen versions of titamium watches (other than 36/177/118/etc. which sell enough to warrant subsequent runs).
rehaut was originally a french term referring to the "highlights" in a painting or in effect the depth in a painting. As far as watches go I think of it as the height from the crystal to the dial.
Your results are consistent with what I find on reps in general. They all tend to be "waterproof" for swimming purposes but the minute you go into a true steam shower or steam room they fog up. PAM's are just too big with too many places for steam to creep in. By the way I find that too be true on gens. Steam is the killer, not ordinary temperature water. That Noobmariner is impressive though.
While you have been working wonders on yours I made prgress on mine. Swapped Asian movement for Swiss (by the way the font on the stock Swiss 7750 datewheel is very close to gen (better then rep)). Added original dial and a Ziggy relume. With the old case and excellent ar coat it is a 99% rep as well. By the way the old case is truly comparable to the gen. I had a chance to hold both at the same time. No pics until after Christmas (dropped the camera again). I have asked for the new Nikon 80 for the Holidays. I have no business owning it based on my skills but it looks very cool.
The 90 rep has the seagull movement. The gen uses 7750-P1. In fact, vritually all Gen PAM automatics use a form of 7750 (Marina automatics, GMT, Power Reserve, Submersibles,etc.). Not a lot of originality there. Okay, 7753 for the chronos with date between 4 and 5.
Although the 187 has only one version available new, the others have multiple versions. Pick your poision and then you may get some feedback. Start with your budget as you can spend $200 for A7750 187, 212 and 196 or $600 or more for 7753 196 or Swiss 7750 212. IMHO, I would start with the 196 or 212. The 187 is a huge watch andI find it only useful on weekends for that reason. My favorite is 7753 196. With Asian I would choose 212 as it has some inaccuracies but not the wrong date font or placement issue as on the 187 and 196. But get one with Sapphire crystal if you are planning on wearing it alot.
