What was that NYC comment? Just remember we are the horological center of the universe. Of course we don't make anything - other than Jacob watches. Then again I was trying on the full PAM Ferrari line last week. NYC does have its benefits.
Watchman cyclops is the sapphire project of a few months ago. Finepics is doing the PVD. His source uses the Tian coating that was used on the gen. He also is doing the datewheels so hopefully it should all come together nicely - again.
Huge fan. My 028 was relumed with Tritium color, Lello crown, Jimmy CG and Watchman Cyclops. It was looing fabulous with Palp PVD until I dropped it on the concrete . Case is off for new PVD and awaiting the new datewheel and Palp crown. Great minds think alike.
Another "t swiss t" issue. I had not previously noticed no "t"'s on the rep. But, IMHO, paint those subdial hands white and you have a pretty darn good rep. The year of IWC.
I am sticking with my DW with mystery movement. That mystery movement (pause to knock on wood) is losing well under a minute a week. Better than the gen.
I forgot about that PVD 196. Can't wait to see the finished product. On the apparent white ring around the bezel on the 253 I don't know the optical elements but I had noticed that on the gen 253. The inner bezel can look substantially lighter from many different lit angles. It is in fact the same color though.
I wish there was a more accurate version as well. For now I am sticking with my Ti chrono avenger. No red and a poor pearl are just too much of a giveaway.
How can the wife/serious girlfriend not know about your hobby if you are spending time over here? And I can't imagine anyone is going to try and fool them. Certainly not a lie worth telling. Now if you are on a first date with a woman, trying to pretend you are a fabulously wealthy oilman and trying to get some...
My wife has no idea about what is real or rep and could care less - as long as it is on my wrist.
The movement aesthetics do look better. PLates are finished more evenly and engraving looks to be closer to the right color. This is about as close as it gets. I assume it is the "dagger" Chinese movement??
