Ssurfer-
I have been in this one for quite awhile and yes, I am good for 2 of each. The watches are all lumed with watchmen cyclops mounted awaiting the final installment of these datewheels.
So the leftie is really a Luminor with a sub bezel but luminor width and no He valve. I went with the 243. No serial number but every time I look down and see T Swiss T when the gen is L Swiss L on the 239 it will drive me crazy. That is the other flaw looking at someone else's listing. Eddie's may be different though.
No pics for me until Christmas (dropped the Camera ). But I am away and have the 7753 196 GST ti with me. But nothing like a long weekend to pick up a couple of new toys.
Yeah, that much I figured out. I was really just curious. It looks like the latest 243 has an He button that pushes in. I suspect it may not do much but it is nice to have another button you can push.
I vote for Ingy. I have no idea why as I don't own the other. But date font aside it is one beautiful watch and it is not one you see every day. IMHO, very elegant.

Thanks for straightening me out.
What is amazing is that the 239 and 243 have different crownguards, bezel pearls and hour markers on the gen and the reps actually take that into account. Now if those two are not available to the public manufacturers are getting incredibly close to the gen without an actual gen. You don't suppose there is a Paneristi or Panerai themselves behind all these rep improvements do you?
Keep your fingers crossed. He always delivers within his longer timeframe. I have received items from him as soon as 7 business days after ordering but I have also definitely waited two weeks as well. They do always get there.
The weird thing is that I see some dealers offering models in both "synthetic sapphire" and "sapphire". Since all sapphire crystals are synthetic I always assumed "synthetic sapphire" was used for marketing purposes and as such meant glass.
I have had my Laureus for so long I can't remember what the movement is. Can someone tell me the easiest way to tell? Also any interesting ideas on a reasonably priced strap upgrade. I never wear it because the strap on mine is crap.

These pictures are off of timezone in one of the forums by an owner:
It looks to me like someone has the 243. I have never seen pics of the leftie though.
No point in changing crystal. Just get it AR coated. And you wouldn't want to find out 1:1 osn't always 1:1. The biggest issue is date font. If you are in the mood you can source gen dials. But this dial is excellent.
The gens shut tightly and have a minimum if two gaskets between the crown and the movement. Yes they are waterproof. Most reps have two gaskets as well. But whether rep or gen, proper greasing and checking the seals is critical.
Hey Doc-
Don't give up hope. 7753's are getting rarer and are no longer in production but there are still plenty of movements around. As it says earlier in the loop there will be a run of 30 units or so. I have already put down a down payment. Should come out just in time for Christmas.
