  1. I don't want any credit, just the watch. I do hope it is forthcoming soon. At the rate at which new reps for new PAM and IWC models are coming I will be out of money by the time it comes.
  2. I agree with Finepics on keeping the movement. If it breaks I would then replace with Swiss 7750 rather than repairing but otherwise I would keep the original movement.
  3. I prefer it to the 212 and am appreciative of the improvements. But the tickmarks on the dial still drive me crazy. On the 212 the tick marks were oriented wrong. On this one it is missing half of them. This is actually a step back in that particular regard. Here is the gen: I still prefer it to the 212 though.
  4. Finepics does fabulous lume jobs for many board members. PM him. He is in the UK. Ziggy does the same and is in Canada. Repaustria offers many services and may as well.
  5. In Manhattan it will be very difficult at that time of year. Try the Holiday Inn. Not kidding. The rooms are decent and it used to be the cheapest around.
  6. Rolli- If you are going to go to the trouble to swap movements and fix the markers I would also suggest a relume for two reasons. First, you can put in Super Lume tinted to tritium color (more authentic during the day and better glow than the gen during the night). The other reason to do it is that once you remove as much orginal lume as possible you can then properly color the "tub" holding the lume so that bezel marker bezel matches with the dial (markers or model paint). The E series with the short markers did not have revealing surround (chrome) on the markers. On most of the reps I have seen the manufacturer did a half ass job coloring the bezel marker bezel. Mine is on the way for exactly this. On the other principal flaws (date and mag) I am hopeful there will ultimately be a datewheel solution. Unfortunately the cylops, as on the 24 Sub, is ground into the crystal owing to the shallow rehaut and as such is probably somewhere between dificult to impossible to replace. Love the watch though.
  7. There is a reason why the dealers here and at TRC survive. They are tested every day by hundreds of forum members. If a dealer is not acting appropriately we know about it. I have bought multiple items from Andrew Eddie, Josh, Ken/Honpo, King, Lisha (AAA plus), Neil, River and Sean. We quickly forget about those dealers who have not survived here. With all the dealers I have bought from they have always rectified any problem. That is what makes this forum so invaluable. You still have to do the homework to figure out which watch, generation, version, movement, etc. you really want though. That is what makes it fun for us. By the way, anyone who has bought from our dealers and is on this forum should be financially supporting it (not so gentle reminder).
  8. Whether the GMT hand needs adjusting depends on whether you get lucky. Typically they do need an adjustment and Ziggy or any watchsmith can easily do it . I do echo some of the sentiment that if you can afford to keep it do so. It is one of the classic PAM original movement reps. I am a fan of the 2893 and 2892 A-2 movements. I prefer them to the bastardized 7750 GMT function (on the gens too). But if you do sell you should get your price.
  9. Is that the Davidsen crown guard? Looks fabulous.
  10. And I agree with Ken. He seems very knowledgeable about the product.
  11. The Laureus is an eye catcher. A couple of people have noticed. The dial as you can tell from these excellent pictures looks very different depending on the lighting. It is a beautiful dial. I have never seen a gen in person so I am wondering if the dial coloring is true to the gen as well.
  12. Here is the link to Josh's offering: http://perfect-clones.com/fe10004-scuderia...sia-p-1843.html And thus we have our first generation of the Ferarri's. The humorous part is this latest version comes with a clear caseback (the rep) when I would have thought it would be easier to make the solid caseback which comes with the back. Will wonders never cease. Could be a while before I get the watch though. Don't have the car yet.
  13. Do you suppose that only 8% of the surveys will think membership is a good idea?
  14. Fantastic post. One has to wonder whether this is the end of complete ETA movements in our reps. I think I will stick with my "inaccurate sword" versions. In this case it sounds like the older engraved movement versions are the better versions. A genius (by accident of course).
  15. Yeah, baby! Fabulous work (as usual).
  16. Watchmaster is the creator. River has had one up for sale recently. Bear in mind though that they are $1000+ watches.
  17. Arch- It looks great. Wear it well (if you ever get it back from your wife).
