  1. My advice: DON"T TAKE TAX ADVICE IN A REPLICA WATCH FORUM My 2 cents (1.4 cents after Federal/State/Local taxes )
  2. OMG! I think I saw this on an old Dr Who episode when I was a kid:
  3. Nothing. Just go and be humble. I'm amazed that "which watch should I wear?" even comes up when you are going to a court of law. The only person who will notice your watch will be the officer that is passing it back to you as you go through the metal detectors and entry-way search areas. Please don't tell me you are trying to impress them. Good luck and don't let it happen again
  4. With my limited experience I will add my observations in what I THINK happens. I hope that the dealers will add their own statements here as to what they actually do. I think that the dealers who "QC" their products typically do a VISUAL inspection on each item before it is shipped. I often hear about dealers "hand picking" watches and this would fall under this catagory. Unfortunately I have received a pair of watches from a well-known, well-respected "hand picker" as I understand it, and both of the watches failed to FUNCTION properly. Both of course were accepted in return and will no doubt be fixed/replaced, but it is something that would slip though what I believe we are calling "QC" here. Now I do have direct experience with one that actually had delayed shipping to put a watch on his winder to QC it, and that person was WBK. That is awesome QC in my book. I am thinking that a few others do this as well and am hoping that they pipe up in this post. Of note is that I have had good interactions with dealers in all categories, with the inevitable problem watch showing up from time to time. Good luck to all in 2008
  5. It's very comforting seeing the last two posts. I have had great experiences with Silix BTW. No problem issues though
  6. Going with my only watch that (hopefully ) will change seconds/minutes/hours/days/month/year tonight: Happy New Year
  7. I'll let you know if it does in a few more hours. Bought it for less than $90 shipped from WBK and have loved the watch so far. I'll go with the bet of "yes" Happy New Year
  8. Nice watches. Can't help you on the part though. Good luck
  9. I will be working in the Emergency Department one of the busiest trauma centers in the Chicago area on New Year's Eve. Dare I say I hope I don't see you. Happy and Safe New Year
  10. My own thoughts: Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker I own two. One at home and one at my summer place (so 2 altitudes and 2 water sources). Both make excellent coffee. It has been rated highly almost everywhere I look. It costs around $89USD. And for me the big thing is the carafe. It keeps coffee hot for several HOURS! I am not kidding. Come home it's still hot. Bought mine at Amazon Good luck with whatever you choose
  11. Very nice. Thanx for taking the time to create and post your pictures
  12. Nice to be able to finally welcome you in the proper forum. 7 watches in 3 months, huh? You'll fit right in here!
  13. This is a great resource. I hope to use him soon, that is if I can find parking!
  14. Great review. The VCO is on my 2008 short list BTW, does the VCO exist as a TT? I thought I saw one once as a rep, although I don't think it appears on the manufacturer site. The TT look was awesome on the bracelet if I remember correctly (which I probably don't)
  15. I sure hope this "FM" person gets the credit they deserve Did someone just miss something noobs?
  16. Wonderful collection, and I love the mini history lesson
  17. 'well done" "thanks for posting" Hope I got it right
  18. Sorry, I don't see a pic. As for not stating the name of the seller, although a noble gesture I am not so sure how well it applies in this case. UNLESS there is a great excuse (shipping damage for instance) that credibly shows this is not the fault of the seller, I would let the community know. I would not think it is acceptable to sent out a modded watch in this condition and then think it's all OK if it is fixed when it is returned. This is not like a drop shipper or a non functioning watch in the rep business where those things might occur. I can understand (and have dealt with personally) these issues and have certainly kept it on the QT until a correction was done (It always has, BTW). But a modder to , by hand, send you this is inexcusable the first time out. This is important information to other potential buyers to weigh in the purchase of a watch. Please let us know of your findings, oh, and the pics
  19. Good luck. Post the good news when you get it
