  1. Thanks for the compliment about the strap and yes it is you... the buckle has a vintage look to it and putting it even in my gen 112 is sacriledge
  2. You mean this buckle? This is my personal GPF-MOD Dep buckle on a custom made V strap... The history of this buckle is very complicated.. many say that there are genuine panerai buckles from depth gauges, and other believe that they are reproductions from Strapmasters that were sold AS genuine but they actually are not. Don't know what to believe.. Only thing I know is that I like it a lot and I am proud of having one
  3. Lucky you Well it will need more than one day to darken but it will significantly after a week of constant sunbathing
  4. See? I guess my photos show the strap more tempting than the mediocre ones on TC site. Anyways.. I bought both straps (and all my other Gef and MP straps) ALWAYS second hand in brand new or like new condition so I definately have not paid myself EVER more than 180$ for a strap
  5. Beautiful watch my friend... I would definately consider getting it as my second gen. Enjoy it
  6. And your strap is ready my friend and dispatched today
  7. Yeap.. Pams are in their environment at beaches... Here is my 112 with an OEM A series coramid strap in Sardinia
  8. Yeap.. what Pre-V said.. Here are my two PAV91.. The one with the original MP buckle and the other one with an MX logo buckle 'surgically transpalnted' by yours truly
  9. or.. if you live somewhere where the sun shines (here in Uk that is not the case) you can leave the strap to the sun and it will darken.. slowly.. You can also use leather contitioner or special grease for leathers
  10. Well.. is it worth so much money for a high end strap? NO and YES... YES if you are willing to go to Florence find the hide, find someone to make the strap for you in high standards and bring it to your door. NO if all the above does not seem like a possibility to you. I personally have a Metta strap that costed me around 60-70$ because I found the hide, I found the leathersmith, I found a nice buckle etc etc. Does the Metta worths it for 250$ that it sells? Not for me.. But for the 99% of the people if they don't pay they won't get. Same thing is with the watches.. Does a genuine Panerai base worths 4000$ ? HELL NO.. If someone manages to find me a nice genuine dial, a SWISS reliable and accurately looking movement, give me 2 years guarantee and resale value plus kiss my ass in the AD for 30min to 1 hour and all this for 1.000$ I will sell my 112 tomorrow At the end every item worths what people are willing to pay. and NO you don't see DOUBLE MP PAV91 and it is not a photoshop trick (although I may sell one in the future to get more straps in) !!!!!
  11. Took some photos today of the strap after 4 days in the beach, saltwater and sun... No problem of shrinking or smelling.. A leather conditioner and grease and now it is better than ever.. I really believe you can't get better patina than this
  12. True.. couldn't have said it better.
  13. Although I like his hides (crasy horse is the best) I never liked his designs so at least one vendor less for me in this Panerai strap madness Go to the Paneristi accessories corner and you may find one.
  14. Yeap.. those hands Marco says will give the perfect finishing touch to your watch
  15. I like everything except the hands.. Somehow they look out of place there... Other than this beautiful vintage as always
  16. Glad you like them.. PM replied When I will start making my first orders you can all see different designs. Remember that the leather is also suitable for normal Panerai straps.. Conolly is not selling only to Ferrari
  17. Oh oh.. I guess being Greek, caring enough to look good, and loving to change leather straps... owning a Base 112 probably makes me gay.. Just please don't tell it to my wife
  18. I can only suggest ONE thing.. DO NOT SEND THE WATCH BACK!!!!!! THose flaws (if they actually are) can easily be fixed by a more skilled member or a modder.. .The money for the postage to send it back you will pay much of their fees and you will not have any worries. No one guarantees you that the second watch from Paul will be perfect. Btw, swdivad has told me that his mini-fiddy was not made up to the standards we were used to couple of months ago, and he sold it immidiately. I don't know if they are batches but... DO NOT SEND THE WATCH BACK!!!!
  19. I decided that although this buckle is a MUST HAVE for every Sub Pam, it is not looking very good with my historic 112. So I will send it back to my friend Simon. The black strap looks OK.. the tan is destined to be made into something vintage.
  20. Hi Brad.. I got the seat from EbayUK. I was lucky that it was in UK (and specifically in Scotland) and that he was shipping (most of the times they say local pickup) The Conolly leather is amazing.. You have to see and feel it to believe it. My photos don't do justice to this strap.
  21. Probably by what you say you mean 'gay' or you said it in a polite way... Well I really doubt that Panerai is even remotely close to gay... The base dial and the big case with the cg makes this watch a TOOL and not a fancy accessory...
  22. Thanks for your good words guys.. TeeJay PM sent
  23. Thanks my friend.. I don't know how the vintage tan strap looks with the contemporary look of the buckle.. I too believe the black one looks better but now that i am thinking it I don;t liek the white stitching... Maybe I have to put a different colour like red for example... Ok easy glide deleted and not it is called folded leather
  24. I agree with what you said.. Some how I think that the white stitching on the black strap doesn't do it justice.. I maybe change it to something different. The buckle (and the kevlar strap) is available from Angus/Puretime..
