HBB, polished ceramic bezel + AR for $512!

and what about the quality of the carbon fiber dial? This is a genuine: Please, tell me, are all the dealers selling these carbon fiber dials? Francisco. -
One question, very important for me. Does the original dial fit in the movement without any problem? Are the pins of the dial placed in the same place as the rep dial? Thans, Francisco.
-
yes, beginning with the 7750 may be disappointing. There is another option, instead of buying an old movement. The DG2813 is so cheap that you can buy it for "playing" with it.

Good information. A colleague suggested me the air method. He usues an air compressosr to remove crystals

a kitchen knife. It has to be quite sharp, no teeth
-
Yes I did. The best place to use the knife to separate the bezel is in the position of the crown. The gap there is larger. Francisco.

Thanks for your replies. Work is done I used a knive and tape to protect the golden case. No scratchs.
-
Thanks for your replies. What about closing the case and using air thought the hole for the stem to remove the crystal? Withou the crystal perhaps I can manage to remove the mechanism. Is this easier or more safe than removing the bezel? I am worried about scratches in the golden case. Thanks again. Francisco.

No. I have dissambled at least 8 Portugueses. I know how to do it for type A. For type B, the problem is that the dial is so big that you cannot remove it from the back. THE DIAL IS RESTING ON THE CASE. As the movement is fastening the dial, if you try to remove the movement from the back, dial will stay in the same place, you cannot remove it from the back, the hands will pop-off,... Later you will not be able to mount the dial and the hands, because you cannot reach them. Francisco.

Hi: It seems there are two types of Portuguese watches. I have been removing the mechanism with any problem in the, let
-
Be careful. It may be your next paperweight. Try to resuscitate your previous daytonas. The tutorial is not so difficult of following.
-
Yes, I am still repairing Portugueses and Daytonas with success. The procedure is here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=67644 Francisco.

Yes, I was talking to Joshua about this, about Portuguese are not avalaible any more. He told me that they are problematic. I showed him my tutorial about applying graphite. So the decision of stop selling this watches has no relationship to the graphite solution. Francisco.

Yes, I took a picture, that follows. I did not post it because has no sense replace the balance wheel, as we found that they are not compatible. There is a small spring where the screwdrives is placed. The arrrow shows the direction you have to push with the screwdriver. Same procedure in the DG2813. Francisco.
-
No idea. I bough it from a person of a forum.
-
Hopefully you are right. But I cannot see teeth in the datewheel (left side of the picture). It is very hard to obtain the original datewheel (submariner). if you have a look to the original date wheel of the submariner (right side of the picture) I damaged some teeth in order to remove it.
-
I tried it. No chance. First you have to unglue the date wheel in order to be able to unscrew the date plate. The glued date whell in the submariner is covering one screw..and there are more problems....

It is know that many times has no sense to repair a replica with an Asian 21j movement. The repair may be very expensive in comparison with the cost of the watch. The objective of this tutorial is to show how to substitute / replace an A21j movement. For that reason I bought a broken submariner from a colleague of a Spanish forum. Here follows a picture of this submariner. The equivalent of the A21j to be bought is the DG2813. This movement can be obtain, for example, from Ofrei (USA) and Cousins (UK). Follow the links: http://www.ofrei.com/page1119.html#16874 http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/40/1921.aspx The DG2813 beats at 21600. The equivalent version beating at 28800 is the DG4813 (Ofrei) and DG8413 (Cousins, wrong name in this webpage). The DG2813 is very cheap: $15.40 at Ofrei,

Montblanc Timewalker chrono hour sub at '6
Francisco replied to marco1958's topic in Other Brands Area
This is a common fail of the 7750. If your watch is new, send it back to the dealer. -
This is not a task for newbies. However, if you have been working with movements you can follow the tutorial, and the only problem, in the case of the Daytona, is how to place the spring and the plate that covers the spring. The tuto is here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=67644 Best wishes, Francisco

Now it is not necessary to freeze the seconds subdial. Here folllows a solution: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=67644

Graphite Lubrication...What are the possibilities?
Francisco replied to DuDro's topic in General Discussion
Graphite was used to solve a problem, A7750 with running seconds at 6. But this does not mean we have to use everywhere. The objective of lubrication is to reduce wear, and oil is reducing wear and it is very easy to use and to apply. Application of graphite takes some time...and, for example, jewels are designed to keep oil inside, by capilarity, graphite will not work there in the same way. Why not to use oil in the running at 6 problem? Becuase the gear is rotating against the surface of the plate. Oil will stick the gear and this was tried without succsess. A molecular layer of graphite is the solution... for this problem. -
Yes, but it is not easy if you do not have the correct tools to do it and some experience. We cannot explain here how to do it. But the majority of the steps are common to the change of datewheels. There is a pinned tuto about this.
