Fitting genuine bezel and insert to upo 45mm advice
cougar1 replied to the_rymeister's topic in The Omega Area
Didn't know that matt, hope he's ok, was gonna look for him to do several AR jobs soon, thanks for the info. Ryan, afaik, the gen bezel cannot be fitted without some serious modding/sanding, it's not like the 42mm which just clicks on, unfortuanately. Most who have done it with the 45 have just done the gen insert swap (which is fine) as the bezel itself is a bit of a nightmare. There are several threads about the process over on the geek and rwi. If I find them I'll post links here later. -
This could in theory take another couple of months yet?? And then to get feedback and comparisons on the forums etc? I've just ordered a V2 as I want one. Hopefully the V3 is really good and solves a long running problem, only trouble is it may rise in cost. ......In fairness these bracelets dont exactly break the bank and the V2 could then be used as the 'beater' bracelet

+1 Will be very interested, a few very interesting other projects could be done with the right dials. Anybody keep an eye on the watchco cases the other night? They were getting quite a lot of attention! I hope everybody who plans on doing a project like this (It has a lot of attention over on RWI also!) ...have now got it out of their system, and bought all the cases and tissots they need I want them all to be reasonably priced in about six months!

PO 42mm - black deployment strap with orange stitching?
cougar1 replied to toasternz's topic in The Omega Area
Certainly not a tell, the PO is worn on everything, but you can buy a rep deployant separately, ask the dealer you purchase from if they have any spare, if not then try narikaa (reg) or andrew (trusty) or trevor etc, they are usually good at getting parts and bits I bought 2 rep deployants from narikaa about a year ago, they were about £12 each or so, he might still have some. btw most normal straps will fit onto the deployant, unless they are very thick. you just need to remove the standard buckle and connect it via a spring bar onto the deployant, some people prefer to remove the two strap keepers as they aren't needed with it. -
Rep Gods/Factories please give us a decent speedmaster moonie for 2012
cougar1 replied to dmacnz's topic in The Omega Area
I hear ye both, did the same, would still like to see a proper rep, but it's not the be all anymore, it would be nice to see a white dial/blue markered broad arrow with decent subdials though. Nice pic btw five of clubs...it's such a cool watch, and will always be a keeper, I'd never get tired of it! -

I'm the complete opposite five of clubs, I don't like that (gen) coax 3313 moony at all, it's too big, too close looking to the handwind etc, but horses for courses eh. The possibility is there, the modded subdial 7750 is around a few years now, we are still waiting though. What would be exceptionally sweet would be some AT chrono reps with it, especially the old and even the new chronos, and also some broadarrow reps with decent subdial spacing. The options are big if they wanted to do it but PAM and Hublot seem to be all the rage instead -
PO 42mm - black deployment strap with orange stitching?
cougar1 replied to toasternz's topic in The Omega Area
Here's a hirsch grand duke black with red stitching (much better investment ): -
PO 42mm - black deployment strap with orange stitching?
cougar1 replied to toasternz's topic in The Omega Area
Buy it on the bracelet for starters, always better, it's easy ask a dealer to sell you separate strap/deployant along with it rather than the other way around. Either way just get it on the bracelet, plenty of straps available aftermarket, check out the likes of timepiecerepublic on the bay, they sell decentish deployant straps and deployants. At the end of the day though you are much better just buying a good hirsch strap and putting that on, rep straps aren't great, the hirsch will be miles better, and can be put on deployant also. -

If only, been waiting for years and honestly don't care anymore, It should've happened when they got the subdials modded right on the 7750/7753 or whatever. It'll never happen, just being brutally honest...they same way the never got a basic smp right...although there was a reasonable attempt at one of those years ago....they are worse now! They couldn't care less really, as long as the current crop still sell, they are happy not to bother. The best we can hope for with omega reps for the future is a decent new AT (they weren't even bothered with that but now might be as it will be the new bond watch) and possibly the newish ceramic PO(although that will be a tough one). The new 9300 speedmaster auto might be worth a crack at repping...but is there enough interest for that? -

Great pics Hike, this is an excellent log of the whole event! -

Can see it fine slask but it is slow to load, looks good though Edit, I see why now, it's uncropped! Last few days of this baby:

Nice collection, and again that's some amazing photo skills you've got there!
-
Thanks for the review panerai153, it's certainly a beauty, I much prefer the silver cased version you chose than the gold case even though the gold is certainly striking. It looks a really well made watch, I do agree with you that it would've been a nicer dressy profile at 40mm as it is fairly chunky at 42mm but beggars can't be choosers These are selling quite well at the moment, I must pick up one before they all sell out completely and are never to be seen again...which happens all too often with decently repped dressy watches.
-
Yeah not too bad, decent enough looking grain on it, for the price the watch isn't the worst monstrosity ever, the case is finished quite nice, it's very off but not exactly expensive...it may even be cheaper on silix, trevor, timeshops etc. ...............still in bad need of a better effort though!

I 'think' this is it: http://www.watcheden...-92116-p-1.html or this: http://www.watcheden.net/omega-seamaster-automatic-with-black-dial-leather-strap-i-69592-p-1.html fcuk knows, it's easier to pull out your own teeth than to browse watcheden
-
Yep as tom says, it's a rep and there's a lot wrong with it You should probably wait a while until a good one comes out but if you really must I think they are still available on watcheden.

Poll: Would you by a new improved TC Date Wheel Overlay?
cougar1 replied to janeto72's topic in The Rolex Area
Sure I'll give one a whirl Will these be then added to the next batch of TC V series due in a few weeks or are they just a separate buy? -
Planet ocean goes great on tons of different straps, and even plenty of different colours. Don't know about blue, never tried one, but think that combination may look a bit odd. Brown is good to go though, light or dark, and looks great....good choice on the hirsch heavy calf they go great with the PO...like they are made for it! 42mm PO on brown alligator:

Yep, nice example, great raised logo and letting on these!

Very nice DJ racer80, great pic! Teejay, great sub for the cash that one you linked to on cqout......been a few years since I browsed cqout, I bought some great watches on there years ago, off the dealer above and I remember tonyxkf (well before watcheden) seller there, got some right bargains dirt cheap from him at the time, glad to see some of the dealers are still going on the site.

God that's in amazing shape, looks stunning, smashing pickup!

Watchco has put a ton of cases up for auction on the bay .....and the prices of those tissot chronos have gone up
