  1. I think that they got their hands on some OEM bezels a long time ago and the source has long since dried up. They had so much fun selling reps for over $1K that they can't seem to stop. This ceramic bezel watch from Angus seems like a pretty good deal at $268. The Big Bangs have always been a good example of the crazy markups we pay for Chinese goods. You should check out a wholesale trade show the next time you want to buy furniture; locally stored imported goods sell for around 20-25% of retail, with no bulk purchase required. The retail price is mainly based on how much your customers have to spend, not the manufacturing costs.
  2. I wonder what you would actually get if you order the PAM alarm clock and compass.
  3. It's sooo obvious people. Posh=Josh. He's just trying to lure more guys into his web of evil.
  4. I'm wondering about creatine cycling too, I've read that it isn't necessary. I use EAS Phosphagen Elite post workout for it's beta alinine content and carbs and regular phosphagen in the morning and at night. The best preworkout that I've tried is NO Shotgun--I would hate to lift weights without it. As for whey, I mostly use it post workout or when I can't get a balanced meal. I would much rather have some salmon or chicken, and if I wasn't cutting, some steak. Right now I am having pancakes I made with nothing but oats, cottage cheese, and egg whites with a little sugar-free syrup. At night I usually have some Greek yogurt for a longer-lasting protein. I am still taking CLA (fat loss) and HMB (muscle retention during dieting). In the past seven weeks I have lost 5 inches from my gut and made significant muscle gains--my weight remains unchanged at 270. My new goal for the next 5 weeks is to maximize fat loss; I want to see what all this muscle looks like! I'm still researching cutting methods but so far here's what I've got: Reduce net carb intake and increase protein and healthy fats Add an L-glutamine supplement No carbs at all in the evening Use a casein+whey protein during the day (I guess this is to avoid gaps in protein availability during a diet?) Gradually reduce total calorie intake to...? More cardio--I plan on increasing HIIT to 4 times a week and adding more sports and outdoor activities (swimming, hiking, soccer, running, biking)
  5. Cobra's are fun to drive but they get "called out" more than all the other replicas combined. Kirkham makes a decent aluminum-snake though, or copper if you really want to get crazy:
  6. The more common Pembleton is a three-wheeler like that Citroen, not my thing though. Between the two I posted the Brooklands is more in line with what I want (small 2 seater racer), but how fun would it be to bomb around in that giant Bentley? I'm sure you could find bigger wheels for it somewhere or have them made.
  7. I was obsessed with the 718 Spyder replicas for a while, and I'll probably get another Speedster in the future. This Benz is going to be an insanely tough project and I doubt I have the time for it--plus the bodywork is not all that close to the gen. There are precious few options for the type of car I'm looking for; I've looked into the Sherpley Speed Six (no longer in production), a rep of a Blower Bentley: And the Pembleton Brooklands which is not really a rep of anything: There are a few more possibilities but I don't have the links handy.
  8. At a glance it looks a LOT thinner, kind of a shame for such a huge watch since it's bad for proportion.
  9. I'm thinking about selling this or trading it towards a 111; it's a nice watch but I haven't even worn it yet. Mainly since it's summer and it just doesn't look right with short sleeves, and I just seem to dress more casually than I used to.
  10. I've been looking for my next project car, and I always wanted a prewar racer. I know it's going to be a bit of a pain sourcing the wheels, suspension, chassis, Lockheed brakes, 600 HP engine... well pretty much everything, but what a ride! At least no one will park next to me at the market with the same car; I really hate that. 1937 Mercedes W125 replica body on Ebay The rep: The gen:
  11. One of my coworkers has a Continental GT; but he thinks wearing stuff with the name of your car on it is silly. I like how it has the same shifter gate as my mom's Jetta: The perfect watch to pair with a Vette is an Ironman.
  12. I LOVE the Speedmasters but they are too small for me; there aren't too many gold watches over 44mm.
  13. Those are out, not on leather yet though: But you can get it in PVD, without the tuxedo dial: Maybe Narikaa, Jay, or Deltick can find it for you--most of our trusty dealers don't want to mess around with A21J reps.
  14. I finally got a gold watch, and it's quite striking. It didn't seem like a good idea to get this on a bracelet; someone on RG bought it and they said the gold was rubbing off where the links contact each other. Plus the rep factory decided to use the clasp with 007 markings. This one isn't quite free from mistakes--the clasp is marked "stainless steel" but at least that's on the inside. Of course I had to replace the rep strap right away--this Breitling style strap from Hadley Roma was the best thing I could find locally, the hole for the tang is really not that noticeable in person. The gen strap is over $300: It's kind of unique (extra long clasp side, no tang hole) so I'm having trouble finding a substitute. Since this is based on the Asian PO Big Size there are a few extra variances from the gen: datewheel position, pearl, He valve position, lug width, and crystal shape. It does have decent rep AR and a flatter Omega logo than the UPO. Overall I am pretty happy with the watch, it has a really strong wrist presence and gets tons of attention.
  15. Just get a Voodoo Envy 133 instead. It's thinner, better looking, more versatile, and has one of those crazy batteries that you can actually REMOVE and REPLACE. Of course it doesn't cut cake like a MacBookAir.
  16. I happen to have the catalog, they do make a Riviera with quartz movement but apparently not the XL or XXL models. Still, the factory was nice enough to put "quartz" on the dial--nothing worse than ticking seconds with "automatic" on the face.
  17. Please put that thing on your trousers where it belongs. Nice work though.
  18. That clasp looks really good. Is the quartz movement accurate to the gen? Corgi, for biking I still prefer my quartz titanium chrono avenger. Light as rubber and less sweaty.
  19. Ladies, don't worry--#2 is optional.
  20. Not quite what you were looking for, but I didn't know these existed--a 32mm PAM: http://www.timeshops.net/Panerai_Luminor_G...J_1790-5045.htm
  21. I bought a fake Rolex in 1992; I was 14.
