SoCal Family Reunion - 6/22- 12:00PM - Location Announced

I'm going to have my son that day; he's staying with me for the summer. Maybe he can wear the Ice Bang since no one else wants it. What name are we reserving the table under? I don't want to wander around looking for the guys with nice watches. -
This is awesome. I would make a crack at Hublot, but why shouldn't they take an off-the-shelf movement, build a $600 watch around it, and then charge rich a-holes a fortune for the privelege of wearing it? It's basically what most of the other guys do, just because they never sold tool watches to GIs they can't milk the upper crust? The HBB is a cool looking watch, when you take away some of the cluttered textures (smooth dial and strap), but it's about as classy as a G-Shock and no where near as practical.

I kinda want to get into skirmishing; airsoft seems like a LOT more my style than paintball. Lately I've been reading up on these things, there are good Chinese copies of most of the expensive Japanese guns flooding the market. Nowadays you can get a very serviceable electric assault rifle or submachinegun for about $120, a really decent gas pistol for $80, and even a bolt-action sniper rifle for $100; leaving plenty of money for the internal upgrades the airsoft forums live for. My understanding of US law is you buy the gun with a blaze orange barrel tip, but it's only required for transporting the gun. Most guns have threaded barrels so the orange tip is easily swapped out, and some even come with a spare non-orange flash hider.

We could GTG at the Guangzhou watch market and buy our own factory. -

Bring some sunscreen. I'm still kinda pale from winter, and I got burned bad on a deceptively cool and cloudy day while watching the Padres stomp the Dodgers. I had a good time though, Petco park is really nice and I bet you get a good view even in the cheap seats. -
I've never seen a crown like that on a Fiddy.

It's a frikken Laser Beam!

Betagen seems like a really good product, I bought the extra creatine to combine with it for a loading phase. I personally like to take glutamine before I go to bed, but I will admit that I probably could have done without the HMB capsules. I am using the Myoplex as a meal replacement. I've been using the ready-to-drink "carb control" version as a quick breakfast, but since right now I am trying to get in the habit of taking several small meals in the place of two large ones, I'm going to drink two or three a day. I use the EAS 100% whey powder on workout days, but it's not quite as convenient. I remember the Bill Philips days too, and I think EAS has come a long way since then. I especially like their use of independent outside testing.

Did someone say....

That's basically what I've got here: various types of Mypolex for protein, Betagen is a combo creatine/HMB/L-glutamine, and Nitron 5 for nitric oxide. Most of the other stuff is just for variety (Muscle Armor is another recovery agent with HMB and glutamine, Phosphagen is a basic creatine to augment the Betagen, and I picked up some extra HMB and L-glutamine mainly because it was only a couple of bucks.

My screencaps from Casino Royale on bluray -
After several false starts, I am jumping back into physical fitness with both feet, and I figured why not give myself every advantage (within reason) that science has to offer. It didn't hurt that I get this stuff wholesale; here's about half of what I bought today: This is just the stuff I am keeping at work. It seems like we have a good amount of fitness enthusiasts here, I was wondering was your take on OTC supplements?
-
Did anyone think that it would be otherwise?

My 217H from PureTime I got a watch with upside-down lettering on the movement, unlike the photos on the website.
-
Sharp watch! I would like to see some photos of that gen bezel; sounds like a pretty good deal.

It's my favorite too--I think it will look even better with some scratches and scars.

Gah, NC on a hot night after some hurricane or knocked out the power... good times. Right now we are enjoying some ridiculously nice weather here in SoCal; wish it would last.

Honestly, I can't seem to get indignant about this watch. people are always going to want a piece of history, and human history is death. I've personally collected items that could be considered far more offensive, such as antique swords that have almost certainly been used in battle. Why can't someone carry around a bit of the Titanic? DO WANT.

A7750 in my new Ice Bang stops on the winder
doc savage replied to doc savage's topic in Movement Q&A
As I already mentioned: It DOES stop on my wrist. It will start up again when turned clockwise several times, causing the rotor to turn clockwise when viewed through the caseback. Turning the watch clockwise winds it. Yea verily, when turned in the direction of a clock so the movement is caused to be wound. If anyone is still confused, the top of the watch dial is caused to move to the right, while the bottom moves to the left, and this motion winds this watch. Clockwise. The winder should be doing a lot better job of winding it than the random motions of wearing it. -
How DO you wear that without talking with a Sean Connery accent? I hear the theme song just looking at it. Good research finding out that the Datejust was a gift--is that a normal part of winning the Nobel Prize?
-
This is really dumb; if he said he got into an accident while driving to the post office would we criticize him for casting the post office in a bad light? As for Canadian post and customs, it's absolutely relevant to the story what shipping method was used and where it was going. What would your approved version of this tale sound like? "My watch went missing while I was sending it somewhere" doesn't really contain any useful facts.

A7750 in my new Ice Bang stops on the winder
doc savage replied to doc savage's topic in Movement Q&A
What sense does that make? When you wear it you are not going to be turning in only one direction. I'm not a watchmaker but I think a ratchet that only allows the motion of the rotor to wind the mainspring and not unwind it is a pretty obvious feature. I have been wearing it every day now, it still stops, I can hold it up, turn the whole watch CLOCKWISE (while I am facing the dial, stay with me here people) several turns and it will start up again. -

No, and why would that matter? -
INCREDIBLY bad beat, but what the heck kind of casino was he playing at with two fumbles on one hand? On the other hand, the kind of luck I have I would be the guy who catches the king.
