  1. Hobnailicious, the lighting sets it off perfectly.
  2. whiskey tango foxtrot
  3. Those photos could easily be California clubs versus the bars in North Carolina (where I'm from).
  4. It's definitely Tonyxkf. The guy has ridiculously bad/inaccurate descriptions for his watches, and the prices on the website are almost double what he charges on the auction sites; but he is very reliable and does take his own photos. You would have to be pretty green to think you were going to get an A7750 for $139--in fact if you had asked for the IOffer price you could have got it for $90 or so, just like every other Asian non-chrono he sells. If Tony was to drop his website prices to the same ones he charges on the auction sites and fix his movement descriptions, he would be unstoppable as a low-end dealer. As things are now, you have to guess what movement is actually in the watch and email him for a good price--letting him know that you've seen his stuff on CQout or wherever so he cuts you a deal.
  5. I would rather have a more visually correct Asian watch than a Swiss one full of flaws. When I first checked Angus' site the Swiss movement was available as an option; he has since removed it. If you look at the drop down options you can add Superlume and cannon pin fix for $60--seems like a pretty good deal. I'm still waiting for word on who does the mods, availability, and how long it will take to complete.
  6. What do you think of this watch I posted from Angus? I'm having trouble digging up info on his modding service with the search feature broken and all. His website is easily the best rep site I've seen, and if I'm not mistaked he modified the page today to include modding options. What should I be looking for as far as the text goes?
  7. Who has the best sub???
  8. I guess Angus offers a 217H with an Asian dagger movement, sapphire and mods for $338 shipped; no need to go off the reservation.
  9. I took another look at them this morning, I guess they aren't all that thick. 1.5-2.5 mm maybe.
  10. I haven't put a micrometer on them, and they are all different, but I would guess 3-4mm.
  11. To put it bluntly, who has the best one? I know movements and modders are scarce right now, and I want the best possible watch without breaking the bank.
  12. I have a huge stack of leather samples that I was planning on making some practice straps out of; my question was what is the minimum size of a hide needed to get a decent strap? Looking at the construction of the straps I have now, it would depend on whether you intended to make the long strap out of one long strip or piece it together. Anyway, some of this leather is extremely nice--they are samples for custom leather furniture in a variety of colors, grains, and thicknesses. The downside is that they are only maybe 9 inches by 7 inches in size, with a hole in one corner. I do have some duplicates among the 100 or more samples, but for the most part they are all unique. If some brave craftsman thinks they can work with these they are welcome to some or all of it, for the cost of first dibs on some of the results of course. I can take some photos when I get home, but take my word for it--some of these would make KILLER straps in the right hands.
  13. Can the bezels themselves be switched?
  14. My dream watch is a perfect 127E, which I own. It's somewhere in Arkansas right now....
  15. Other arguments (forced labor, wages) aside, 13 is not all THAT young to have a job. Since the dawn of time, it's been more or less the luck of the draw whether you would spend your childhood as a scholar or behind a plow--we just have more scholars nowadays.
  16. That wasn't what I was hoping for.
  17. I have no idea if you're right, but I do like the cut of your jib, sir.
  18. I wonder who he stole that from....
  19. Isn't white gold usually rhodium plated anyway? And all that 5mm thick, quadruple wrapped stuff is BS--until someone drills a hole in one I'm going to assume that it's just as thin as all the $80 RG plated reps. Wake me up if this is under $200.
  20. Yet again, Florida makes me proud to be an American. There is some truly interesting stuff going on in the mind of someone who puts a bozack on their trailer hitch.
  21. Previously, I was a survey party chief, then an art gallery partner/manager. Currently, I work in an analytical chemistry lab doing medical research. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
  22. Thats nice, but will they get the texture right? Interesting photos here.
  23. I don't really want a trade, you never know what those shipping people are up to with your packages. UPDATE: I now offer superior excellence with every purchase! DOUBLE excellent handpicked QC available for an extra fee.
  24. PP SMT is SOLD to his Majesty Prince Abakaliki of Nigeria. If anyone wants one of my luxuriously overpriced Subs I now only accept Western Union or Flooz.
