I hope you mean a swim suit, or maybe the Batsuit! They make watches too, they're just as klassy:
-
I don't know if this is the right box for another model or what, but it's obviously nothing like the images above. I ordered it about a month and a half ago, and now I don't even have any plans to buy an HBB.
-
I thought of that, I know it's not like you're some bro wearing them just because they're expensive. I guess it's like PAMs, some people think they're great and some think they're an abomination.

I read somewhere that we don't have the right teeth to be natural herbivores, but I guess you can come up with data to fit any set of beliefs. If we weren't meant to eat animals, they shouldn't be so damn tasty. I have a hard time with comparing riot police clubbing Tibetian monks to death in the street to slaughtering animals for food. I love dogs, I'm totally against cruelty in any form, but if they want to eat them how is it any different from a cow, sheep, pig, fish, or lobster? Here are some legitimate guidelines for choosing what to eat: 1) Is it a person? If yes, do not eat. 2) Is it endangered? Open to some debate, but probably a bad idea to eat something if there are only 100 or so left living. Maybe with careful conservation your grandkids can eat manatee steaks with bald eagle eggs! 3) Is it poisonous? Try not to eat the poisonous bits but pretty much everything has some good meat on it.

I just got a pair of the "high end" fake Chanels for my girl, they feel rather substantial and well made. I would say they are on a par with her genuine D&Gs or Pradas, but I'm sure if I had the same model Chanels to compare with I could find the flaws. They came with the retail box, papers, hard case, Chanel cloth, looked real enough to me. I didn't buy any fakes for myself--not because I am so concerned with my corneas but because I am really picky about the fit of my shades. I've spent up to $350 for a pair of designer sunglasses, but I've had so many pairs lost, stolen, or broken that I probably wouldn't spend more than $100 anymore. I'm going to raise a bit of ire here, but if you are wearing Oakleys (any style) with something more formal than boardshorts--ouch. Nothing classic about those things.

OK, I caught the postman on my way back to work. The Hublot box is in the boot of my Porsche right now, but I don't really know what to make of it. I'll post some photos when I get home. In the meantime, does anyone have a photo of the genuine HBB boxset? The only pictures I could find online was this enormous windowed case they sell the limited edition watches in, so I don't really know what to compare this one with.
-
The common fake sunglasses are really easy to spot, simply from the workmanship. Much like watches and bags, there are new, high-quality Chinese fake sunglasses starting to become available. The only way to spot these is a side-by-side comparison with the exact model of genuine shades.

Thanks Victoria! Go ahead and send me your details soon though, cause I'm going to the PO anyway this afternoon. I'm sure you'll take care of the bill,
-
Victoria, your inbox is full! I'm not sure how you are supposed to pay, I assume there is a way to donate directly? Anyway, please pm me with the address you want this watch shipped to, and I'll get it sent out after work.

Congratulations and thanks to Victoria!

Just a couple of hours left.

This reminds me of the debate about lobsters, not a cute or friendly animal but still much effort has been made to find faster and more humane ways to end their lives: secret life of lobsters How would you like to be dispatched? You could become a hundredair if you set up shop and sold them. I'm most interested in the crown, did you have to mod it much to fit it? And where did you find it?

Trying to find the perfect large dress watch
doc savage replied to doc savage's topic in General Discussion
I like Radiomirs, but even in RG I don't consider it a dress watch. Nice and big, though! And now that I know your mother-in-law wears a prince, I don't think I want one anymore.... That looks pretty great, not to small and not too big! I know traditionally a dress watch is small & thin, but I just don't enjoy wearing smaller watches anymore. What size is your wrist, and where did you get that great watch? Of course, but browsing sites takes forever, and Tony happens to have a great selection of inexpensive Asian movement reps. Also it doesn't hurt that the site is well laid out and relatively fast. If I knew exactly what I wanted I would then see which dealers have it and go from there. -
I have given myself the following guidelines: 1) At least 40mm, 45mm+ is ideal. 2) Not too expensive (OK, cheap is really a better word for it) 3) Doesn't have to be terribly accurate to a gen, fantasy watch is OK. Reps do have their advantages! 4) Should be somewhat obscure. 5) I kind of want to give rose gold a try. 6) Some complications would be nice, but not date functions on a watch that's supposed to be a chrono. 7) Light colored dial preferred. Here's what I have so far: IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Automatic Gold Case The subdials look scrunched together, it's yellow gold, and overall it's kind of ugly. But it's a working perpetual calendar for a hundred bucks! Plus the size is a healthy 46mm. IWC Schaffhausen UTC Automatic GMT Working Gold This is more attractive, but it's still yellow gold. IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Automatic Rose Gold Another extremely cheap perpetual calendar. Rose gold is a little nicer, but it doesn't even look like an IWC to me. Looks like something from the Skymall catalog. IWC Grande Complication Swiss Lemania Movement Rose Gold Case Much nicer looking, but also much more expensive. Probably not Swiss. IWC Schaffhausen Working Power Reserve Rose Gold Case A very nice looking dial on this one, and a healthy 46mm case. The movement looks WAY too small, but it is a budget watch. The big date is cool, and a working power reserve is nice for this price, although it looks like it was supposed to be a flyback second hand. IWC Portuguese F.A Jones Collection Swiss ETA 6498 Movement Rose Gold Case A little pricier, a little smaller (43mm), but this is a very attractive watch indeed. I kind of prefer an auto, and I don't like buying reps with croc straps since it's guaranteed they will suck. Breguet Rattrapante Ref.5187 BR Chronograph Manual Winding Rose Gold Case OK, these snuck under the radar somehow with their missing chrono functions. The price and size (43mm) are right, though, and they are undoubtedly classy looking. Vacheron Constantin Malte Chronograph Whoops, another chrono wannabe. It's not even as nice looking as the Breguet, but I always wanted a VC; it's just fun to say. Suppose you meet this attractive young lady. "What kind of watch is that?" "Oh this? It's just my VACHERON CONSTANTINE MALTE CHRONOGRAPH. (said with the perfect French accent of course)" "Oh. (quiet pop of a bra unhooking itself as if by magic)" No one has ever heard of a VC but it just sounds Terribly Expensive. Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Automatic Rose Gold Case The blue numerals are a little gaudy, but I like the dial layout. Cheap, rose gold, auto, and 42mm. Patek Philippe Astronomical Celestial Double Dial Rose Gold with White This rep is a little crazy, but it has a certain appeal. I like the quartz watch on the caseback where it's supposed to have a complication depicting the night sky, that's some Chinese ingenuity right there. 43mm and rose gold, and it's nice and thick whick I like (on a watch that is). Vacheron Constantin Skeleton Minute Repeater Swiss ETA Unitas 6497 Movement Manual Winding This is a bit expensive and skeleton watches are a little too delicate-looking for my tastes, but this is one well decorated movement. 42mm. Rolex Prince Automatic Rose Gold Case About the only Rolex I would ever wear (except maybe a beat-up Bond sub), I really need to see this on a wrist before I decide if I like it. The size seems healthy enough at 31x51mm, or is it too narrow? The dial reminds me of a Bentley Jump-Hour. Longines Evidenza Working Chronograph I like blue hands, but not blue numerals so much. This is also a quartz, which usually makes me shudder but quartz chronos aren't so bad--I justify it since the second hand is so small it is not that noticable. 50x38mm, so a little beefier than the Rolex. A.Lange&Sohne Grosse Arkade I've never seen one of these before, seems like a very sharp watch. Love the big date, numerals, and the case shape. At 33x49mm it might be too small for me. So after writing all that I still have no idea which one I want--help!
-
That's the same movement all right. It sounds like a buzz than a ring, but I guess you get what you pay for. Now this is an alarm:
-
Breguet True 1 Minute Swiss ETA Flying Authentic Tourbillon Rose Gold For $1150, I strongly doubt it's Swiss, but it's nice to see a Chinese tourbillon in a rep.
-
Search function still broken.... So what's the alarm function like? I didn't know it was available in reps at all. I remember seeing this in the Omega catalog, nothing to get exited about but if you ever wanted a bling PO with faux chronos here it is:
-
So here's another one with the same movement: IWC GST Mechanical Alarm Working with Brown Dial This comes in black, white, or brown dial. Fantasy watch? Description says working alarm.
-
I tried to look these up to see if anyone has mentioned these already, but the search feature wasn't working for me. So I haven't browsed the offerings of our lesser-known dealers lately, and since I can't sleep I was hunting for the elusive masculine dress watch. I turned up some interesting stuff on tonyxkf's site. Just to rehash some previous discussion, Tony likes to label EVERY rep with a pricey movement (i.e. A7750) as Swiss, which is annoying. He also sets his prices high (almost double what he will take for them in many cases), so don't just buy stuff and check out--you have to negotiate the total. On a more positive note members who have dealt with him report that he treats his customers very well. I haven't personally bought from him yet, and have no interest in promoting him as a dealer. If he is selling a watch then your preferred dealer can probably find it. Another thing I noticed is that he recently added a bunch of PP Nautilus watches and they are described as MBW, I never paid much attention to MBK reps but it would be interesting if that's what they really are. Hopefully it isn't another example of tonyxkf mislabeling things. OK, here's what prompted this post: VULCAIN AVIATOR GMT MANUAL WIND WORKING ALARM

I've been toying with the idea of ordering from one of the Hong Kong or India tailors that do bespoke suits and shirts online. No real reason in this day and age that I can't get my measurements here then let someone do the cutting and sewing somewhere with cheap labor. I know that must make a proper tailor cringe, but I just can't justify spending thousands on suits anymore, not with the casual nature of my current job. It costs about the same as a rep suit, just without the label, and you can order swatches or send them your own fabric if you want. To my knowledge, no one has ever looked at my jacket label anyway. I've known people who would take a stab at the deigner from the cut, just making conversation, or notice a particularly nice material. As far as suits go I think the fit, cut, fabric, and construction are FAR more important than label.

Expensive watch, zero feed back seller... bad news. I hope the winner does a local pickup.

The bezel, dial, and caseback are gen. Is there another gen Omega bracelet that would fit the Big Size?
