Seiko Samurai

You tried it on , what was your feeling? Is it as huge as it looks?

I like it but i'm afraid it could be too big as i'm used to a 42mm PO. :g:

:)

After Panerai, nothing feels big anymore. I guess Panerai has made my wrist feel like an old female porn star.

My advice, by the watch. It looks great and the fit and finish are high end.

Ive got an Orange Samaurai in TITANIUM. It is an incredible watch- I get more compliments on it than all my reps combined!

When I got it last year, the best price I found for it was from chronograph.com (who has tons of Seikos!)

I've got to chime in here with my .02. Unless you've got long green to drop on really heavy-duty purpose-built watches, there's no better $/watch value today than a good Seiko diver, whether the 007j, the 031, or any of the monsters. I've got each of those and they wear and look great. Like pug, I keep my 007 on a nato (blacked-out Rhino with PVD hardware) and it feels just as serious as my PO or RXW MM.

Other than my opinion that Seiko is one of the better watches in terms of value, I can say I have had no problem buying from sellers in Singapore. I have not gotten anything from the guy in the eBay link earlier in the thread, but I have bought four Seikos from eBay seller "pokemonyu" also in Singapore and have never had a custom problem. They aren't replica's so why should customs care?

Well said.

I picked up a new OM off the Bay for $115 shipped and could not be happier with the quality of this watch. I love it so much I wear it everyday!

Thanks guys!

I like it more and more but i think it's really huge.

Titanium version in blue or black is my favourite, too bad it's also the most expensive (at least 350$). :whistling:

:)

This watch is only 42mm. It's really not that big. I think you read a "with crown" measurement.

The $249 is for the SS with no guards.

I've had pretty much every Seiko diver fromthe 6217/MAS thru a number of 6105's and 6309's and still have a few, including a Marine Master. The Samurai is an awesome watch and a great value for the $$. The SS and ti Sammy's are part of the Prospex line and the overall fit and finish and build quality is just a bit better than standard Seiko.

Personally I like the crown guards and the nicer hands on the ti version better then the SS. Here's a pic of my blue ti Sammy (I believe it was around $300 from Reto at PMWF?) before I sold it to fund my MM :)

Hmmmmmmmm

Oh yes.. the SZET002 ..drooled on it for days, and contemplated selling my Samurai Ti to fund it.. I even mailed a few unitelligible mails back and forth with Neel.co.jp. Then I found out it's 38/39mm.. ..what a disappointment. I think it's a beautiful watch though, if only they'd make it in 42mm +..

I have had mine for a couple of years now, extremely rugged, hefty, and runs great. Sits nicely on my 7.5 wrist. The quality and finish is very nice. A great watch to wear for any occasion. It reminds me of a Steelfish in terms of weight. Great value for money. Mine is the ss version. Its a 42mm case size.

It would be hard to find more bang for your buck

Seiko divers are unbeatable

I agree. The one on the bottom right of your picture is stuning too...and around 200$ delivered and no waterproof issues

I think I will add it to my son's Seiko collection one day.

Funny that I'm wearing this one this morning:

Buy one off of the Poor Man's Watch forum - PMWF.com search for the sales section. They pop up frequently there, most of the stuff is in CONUS some in EU..

Enjoy.

I wanted mine so bad, the blue dial Samurai Ti, but I can't help it.. I'm just not a fan of titanium watches.. So I have decided to try to sell mine here in Norway.

It's still looking good 'cept for some scuffmarks on the edge of the insert. Neel.co.jp sell these inserts for around $20.
