freddy333 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Do you think this watch came from Phong? No, which is why I wrote 'similarly' (as opposed to the same).
mat944 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 I can only imagine the look on the Zigmeister's face as he's tearing this one down! How embarrassing for the dealer if they claim they don't drop ship!
TeeJay Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 No, which is why I wrote 'similarly' (as opposed to the same). Ahh, I'm now seeing coded DW reference (or maybe just spaced from pain meds) so I'm guessing that's the source
rek001 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Jeez, his watches aren't cheap. I don't understand, DW is not exactly a dropshipper.
chronoluvvv Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 the dealer's last job must have been a union plumber
freddy333 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Ahh, I'm now seeing coded DW reference (or maybe just spaced from pain meds) so I'm guessing that's the source Sorry, but I was not inferring - explicitly or implicitly - that it looks like a DW.
TeeJay Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Sorry, but I was not inferring - explicitly or implicitly - that it looks like a DW. Ahh, gotcha
gazumi Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Thanks for the write up. This certainly puts things into perspective. There are plenty of people who nitpick over the tiniest flaws on a rep and theynwoul have a heart attack if they ever got this one in the mail.
Toadtorrent Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Not even going to attepmt to fix this one, somethings are better left alone... Pheeew!! I was hoping you weren't going to get even more frustrated with this one. Yup...definitely one best left to the dealer to sort out. No sense in outing them until they've at least had a chance to rectify things.
By-Tor Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 DW... isn't he the same guy who used to sell Daytonas with "Mystery Movement"? Well this certainly looks like quite a mystery.
chubbchubb Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 A watchmakers version of a splatter movie.....
Martyd3 Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I have had QC problems with DW in the past, but nothing like this. It was usually the wrong parts bring shipped or less that stellar workmanship, but he always made it right in the end. If you are thinking about buying one of these Daytonas, I would contact Spin. I assume he buys the parts from DW and then services/mods the movement and assembles the watches. I own one of his Daytonas and have one on the way. The workmanship and QC is excellent
meatwad Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 On the bright side, the watch did not give him Swine Flu, shoot acid in his eyes or spontaneously ignite (but only by a small margin given the pics).
Samurai Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Wow....am fascinated by this watch movement. The dealer should come out in the open and start selling these "vintage" movements
takashi Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I have one of these as well but the movement is different from pictured above.
Samurai Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I have one of these as well but the movement is different from pictured above. Put it up on the fleabay and sell it for a premium Taka
P_K Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Who's this dealer that sends out garbage like this, I really think sellers of this kind of junk should be exposed.... so.. who's DW?
rek001 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I'm beginning to think it's really not fair to put this on DW without verification. Who else offers assymetrical pushers?
