Some Ebel eyecandy!

Ebel BTR and Discovery have become moderately popular reps... no wonder as the design is just superb, and the reps are very well built.

Let's see the Ebels!!! :tu:

*n00b question*

What's wrong with the subdial in that pic? Looks fine from here! lol

He's referring to the wrong subdial spacing on the BTR rep. The gen has an inhouse movement with tight spacing. 7750 movement can't quite mimic that.

It's a big deal for some members... personally I don't care.

As usual... read my documentation. ;)

Answers all those questions.

The new tight subdial mod got "ok" from Fransisco, but I prefer an unmodified movement. If wrong spacing is the price to pay, then so be it. Lovin' the BTR with or without correct spacing. It's not like Moon Watch or Daytona... it's rather obscure brand and model. The design... well I easily prefer it over most Breitlings, TAGs, Rolexes and Omegas.

beautiful watches.

you have anything modded on the discovery, By-Tor?

Nope.

It's probably the most accurate replica watch ever done. So it doesn't need any.

PS: Ebel has a new consumer brochure (full catalog) downloadable in their site (19MB)

Here's a smaller gents-only collection file:

One of the BTRs points for me is the over size subdial, it just draws me to it.

@ BT how does thayt very fine brush finish hold up to normal wear and tear, does it pick up more scratches?

I'm very easy on my watches and I can't get them scratched much at all. I haven't noticed any scratches on my BTR yet. The bracelet is one of the biggest draws on it. Very high quality and I really like those "rounded" edges on it.

So definitely get BTR with the bracelet. Nothing wrong with the strap though, but I'm a steel man myself.

Still haven't shot some new pics with my 50D but these will do.

This is the EBEL 1911 senior 18K gold.

It's not getting a lot of wrist time lately :(

Still need to buy a new croc for it.

  • 3 months later...

I like this watch so much, it has basically replaced my Blacksteel. (Black & Red theme).

I will snap some pics of the movement shortly. It is stunning. This is the best functioning / usable chronograph I have owned. Makes gen 7750's feel bleh...

Yeah... BTR is in the different class. I rank it into the Daytona/Zenith category... maybe even higher. Here's a great review of the watch... I'm sure you'll find it interesting (in pdf format). You need Acrobat reader for it.
