lovepanerai Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 I guess nobody expected this Just received this PAM253 Regatta Flyback from River in just 2 days from Taiwan to California A lot of things are fixed on this one in comparison to the 212's out there, but judge for yourself - enjoy The movement and caseback - notice something? and the wristshots:

JWR Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Interesting... I will have to speak to River about this one!
Quarks Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 I'm sh*tting my pants!!! Bloody awesome, the only beef is that the waffle dial is not deep enough. But who @#$%ing cares. This looks WONDERFUL!!

lovepanerai Posted September 9, 2006 Author Report Posted September 9, 2006 SUPER WATCH........IF I may ask what does this one run $$ please PM River for pricing
Dani Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Looks great strange that River has not posted it in the watchtrade department.
slay Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 is the rotor engraving supposed to look like that? and its the old 7750, too!
Typhoon Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 KOOL photos--I prefer this rep instead of the 1950 Flyback I have. 2 days from Taiwan--that's QUICK. TS
lovepanerai Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 is the rotor engraving supposed to look like that? and its the old 7750, too! well the font is different, but the positioning is correct and yes it is the old 7750 - if it breaks down I will put a Swiss 7750 in
swdivad Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Congrats on your new watch, pretty nice, but no sapphire and old a7750??!! As they say down here in Oz... !NOT HAPPY JAN!
slay Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 well the font is different, but the positioning is correct and yes it is the old 7750 - if it breaks down I will put a Swiss 7750 in that sounds good. even though I dont like the way they did it on the (genuine) regatta (because it just doesnt look as it should look on a 10.000$ watch), I'm happy that the asian repmakers atleast got the rotor right
Watchmeister Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I prefer it to the 212 and am appreciative of the improvements. But the tickmarks on the dial still drive me crazy. On the 212 the tick marks were oriented wrong. On this one it is missing half of them. This is actually a step back in that particular regard. Here is the gen: I still prefer it to the 212 though.

Here is the gen: I still prefer it to the 212 though. remember this is a very rare watch only 500 produced, so the chances of even AD's or Paneristi for that matter being able to tell the difference are very low - that's not say that it doesn't bug me a little
Finepics Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Of course the real improvement with this is the OP and serial numbers on the caseback. Why oh why does the newer 212 now have a sapphire crystal but still the same shitty caseback!! Fukkin hell it's annoying. Sapphire crystals are hopefully going to be available soon for these reps. I am awaiting a sample based on my designs in mineral and if all is well they will be made in sapphire fairly soon so keep a look out for updates on this.
dadog13 Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 OMG....this one is really great...just checked...but really no post from River selling it... these reps are just keeping me on the low level of cash in my pocket..DAMN! wear it well!

Polynomial Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 A bloody incredible lookin' watch! Can't find this anywhere, River doesn't (yet?) have it on his page...did it come on the brown croc & deployant?
JWR Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 River has them for a pretty solid price if you email him. I assume that it will be widely available soon... hopefully a new 28,800 bph 7750 in it soon...

Can't find this anywhere, River doesn't (yet?) have it on his page...did it come on the brown croc & deployant? it came on the usual crappy black plastic gator with deployment, the brown gator is from Kurt - Watchboys
