redwatch Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Understandably a favorite! It's stunning Ubi! Nice mods so far! Looking forward to the progress on this one! Definitely a favorite of mine!
ubiquitous Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Thanks, Red. I am contemplating whether or not I want to tweak the crown guards a slight bit. I am leaning towards not, as I really like the squared, boxed in look that they give the crown. Not 100% correct with regards to aesthetics compared to gen, but I'm finding this as one of those situations where personal preference may trump accuracy of detail...
marc jacobs Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Hooray!Yeah!!7031!!! My MBW 7031 with NATO strap. Look similar with new tudor heritage chrono. But i can't find a 6 o'clock cyclops crystal.
ubiquitous Posted April 24, 2010 Author Report Posted April 24, 2010 Okay, RWG... Need your input on this one Prior to the crystal and bezel swap, I preferred this one on the grey G10... But now, I'm almost thinking I prefer the Oyster afterall Thoughts or opinions?
lhooq Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 I choose Oyster. Even in its old 7031 guise, I would have voted for the bracelet. Of course, you'll have to ask again when you get the new dial!
dluddy Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Oyster for me but then, I don't like Nato straps
OSRep Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Master Ubi, I am in total awe and filled with envy!!! Its extremely beautiful......Definitely smokin on the oyster bracelet......
TeeJay Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 The bracelet blends nicely with the SS Bezel
Ronin Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Oyster with Steel Bezel for sure. I could see NATO on black insert based bezel however.
panerai153 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Ubi That is a beautiful watch and with the correct hands, it will be a knockout!! I too vote for the Oyster bracelet. I never was a big fan of NATO's. Down here in the South, they get pretty nasty, pretty quickly with all the sweat,I had one on a MKII Stingray and I had to wash it almost every day.I don't enjoy wearing a watch that smells like a 14 year old's tennis shoe!
ubiquitous Posted April 25, 2010 Author Report Posted April 25, 2010 Oyster seems to be rather unanimous! Not too monochromatic?
bwhitesox Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Lovely watch Ubi, Oyster gets my vote as well.
TeeJay Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Oyster seems to be rather unanimous! Not too monochromatic? I would say 'complementary', rather than monochromatic
ubiquitous Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 Wow, incredible condition Unfortunately, no subdial hands But I am more than content with hour/min/stopwatch sec! I gotta stop spending on this watch and start focusing on my primary project...
vlydog Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Those hands will really make a difference Ubi; there are beuatiful. Do you have a magic lamp?
LeSentier Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Oyster seems to be rather unanimous! Not too monochromatic? no, it just looks perfect! Where did you source the oyster, and which reference# does it have? Currently having a riveted one on mine, but would like to swap it with the same as yours. Costs? Best, J PS: i want your dial
OSRep Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 I gotta stop spending on this watch and start focusing on my primary project... Im sure thats hard to do when this project is SO beautiful and nearly complete.........
lhooq Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 hooray Orange you glad you bought new hands? If this is what you consider "secondary", I can't even begin to guess what your primary project could be...
ubiquitous Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 Thanks, gents! I'm probably going to wait for some other bits to arrive before fitting the hands; I just tracked down a nice set of pushers, and so those are en route now... OSRep- Thanks sir, and you are absolutely correct- This one is nearing completion, and as it's got some momentum going, it's kinda hard to slow it down now Plus, it just seems a bit serendipitous as the parts I'm after for this one are turning up fairly easily. Right time, right place? Perhaps yes Joerg- The watch currently has a rep bracelet and rep endlinks fitted; the bracelet is a hollow link 93150 copy, and the ends are labeled as 503B (which are completely incorrect, both for this watch and the wrong ref for these endlinks as true 503Bs are polished center ends without the stabilizer tabs specifically for ref 16520): Incorrect 503B ends as fitted to my 7032... And these are on my 16520... This 78360 will likely be finding it's way onto the Tudor before long, however... LHOOQ- I actually picked up this Tudor as a way to more or less pass the time while coordinating the details on my primary project... I'm kinda fiddly when it comes to down time... Too much of it, and I start getting restless! Cheers! //ubi
vafarmer70 Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Unfortunately, no subdial hands But I am more than content with hour/min/stopwatch sec! I gotta stop spending on this watch and start focusing on my primary project... Wait.. What did I miss.. This is NOT your primary project? Scanning the board..
