r11co Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Let's have your guesses as to what this is all about (no prizes unfortunately - just for fun). If no-one guesses within a while I'll add another photo clue.
Finepics Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I guess you have hooked that microphone up to a PC to check the watch timing!!
Everythingape Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 You are making a seamaster caseback opener! either by induction or by making that little oven bake a plastic mould
r11co Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 (edited) I guess you have hooked that microphone up to a PC to check the watch timing!! Sorry - I should have said this isn't of my doing. Just something that caught my eye in passing. Good guess though, and might lead to another project.... But wrong Ticking time bomb? Not on this occasion.... Edited September 14, 2006 by r11co
Watchwatcher Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 pacemaker for reps with weak movements?
Everythingape Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 A huge electro magnet, to do something I can't imagine what could be...
Linder Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Not your doing? I think it must be Nanuq with a detonator strapped to the back of his new watch
r11co Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 (edited) These are brilliant. I hope you're not disappointed when I tell you what it actually is... Edited September 14, 2006 by r11co
Everythingape Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 A pre-wrist heater for those cold alaskan days?
Finepics Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 OK - it's a little magnetic rotor that keeps the movt rotor spinning round to keep the watch wound!!!
Slartibartfast Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I know, its an electro magnetic security lock, you stick in a quid and lock your SMP up to it when in the Turkish bath! I saw one only yesterday, honest!
r11co Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 (edited) I'm going to let this run. Another picture clue in the morning. All I'll add for now is that this was a factory approved mod. Keep guessing Edited September 14, 2006 by r11co
haveblue Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Hmmmmm....could it be they are demagnetizing the omega SMP?
KB Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Your miles off guy's.................it's a digital watch that has 115 different complications as well as GPS and the wires run off to a car battery. Ken
tenacious_b Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Your miles off guy's.................it's a digital watch that has 115 different complications as well as GPS and the wires run off to a car battery. Ken I was going to say magnetic watch winder, but Finepics beat me to it....I am judging from the wires, I'll say it could be a cellphone so that someone can talk on their Omega Phones while it's citing 3cm off their wrist.
r11co Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 No-one has even come close so far, so here's another visual clue.....
Everythingape Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 yeah, that looks like a standard 3,5mm jack, so it supposedly is something acoustic going on..
r11co Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 yeah, that looks like a standard 3,5mm jack, so it supposedly is something acoustic going on.. You would think so, but no. Pay close attention to the face.
rmcsherry Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 You would think so, but no. Pay close attention to the face. Please tell me it's not some kind of led powered alternative to superlume!
jonthebhoy Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Some sort of lume charging contraption??? JTB
r11co Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 Please tell me it's not some kind of led powered alternative to superlume! Oooooh - very very close! I think I am going to have to ask the context it is being used in....
jonthebhoy Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Oooooh - very very close! I think I am going to have to ask the context it is being used in.... Is "the device" being used prior to having some publicity shots taken, perhaps? JTB
r11co Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 (edited) Is "the device" being used prior to having some publicity shots taken, perhaps? I'm gonna give this one to rmcsherry. I'm at work at the mo so don't have the pictures that give the answer. Edit to follow... (PS. Well seeing Gravesen has fallen out of favour on your avatar JTB ) Edited September 15, 2006 by r11co
