Nanuq Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Messing around with my new iPhone, trying out the camera. This is unretouched... straight from the little bugger. It's a LOT better than the camera on the last phone!
Jkay Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 There's a news piece from a few weeks back .. a pro photo studio wanted to show that it isn't necessarily your $$$$ camera that gives results ... so they shot an entire session with an iPhone on a tripod. Studio lights, professional model, post-processing done by their normal retouching house.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 good quality, still no substitute for an SLR, studio setting or not.
dbutlerman Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Macworld Magazine just did something similar with their cover story. They did all the pictures in a studio but used the iPhone 4 as the camera - they also did all the post processing on the iPhone. http://www.macworld.com/article/153025/2010/07/iphone_cover.html DB2
freddy333 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Looks good (for an iphone). On a similar note, there is a tv commercial for a Panasonic Lumix p&s camera that, as it turns out, was shot entirely with the camera. They even did all the editing on the camera & the entire 30 second spot looks totally professional. Quite impressive.
dbutlerman Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Here an Olympus along the same lines - shot with the same P&S as advertising. I am impressed http://www.petapixel.com/2010/05/10/olympus-pen-commercial-with-a-twist/
ThinkBachs Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 You could take a photo of her with a pin-hole camera and it would look great!
Gorilladame Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Just got myself the new nex-5 from sony, it is my first real camera and I needed to get one as all my pics I posted so far totally sucked. Conclusion: the camera is a dream. the pics are fantastic and it is really easy to use for a noob. Here are some fooling around pics that I found quite impressiv...
Dizzy Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Does the iphone have a macro setting or is it just all automatic?? Those closeups look pretty good.
Jkay Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 The iPhone 3Gs and newer have a touch focus, not permanent infinite focus. Touch the part of the image you want to use for metering and focus and it adjusts.
