Hope he got that lot out of a bank, imagine if some of those 50's were blag. Maybe thats my scouse sense kicking in Thought banks would not allow you to withdraw such amounts to combat crime ?
Jkay Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Thanks for cross posting! I'm happy for the old fellow, and those certainly are a few huge bags of steaming cash.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 HOLY CRAP! but i mean... c'mon, you could build something extremely accurate for 1/100th the cost. makes me wonder what ever happened to ian flemings bond sub
redwatch Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Wow. Now that is definitely how you buy a Milsub watch! Nice to see the intermediary got some champagne out of the deal
Paneraibob Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Is this the transaction picture of the milsub we saw a few weeks ago from this posting
StormTooper4 Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Silly Silly money, Its insane , and to carry that cash around ,
TeeJay Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Paying that much for a watch, is crazy... Having six identical mil-subs in a collection is OCD gone too far... A fun read, but I think I'll be sticking with reps
dbutlerman Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Pretty cool watch with some real pedigree behind it.
TeeJay Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Hey look.. he threw in a black NATO! Customer care at it's very best

TeeJay Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Acutally Mike Wood owns 18. Thats 18 of the estimated 200 left in the world ... Crazy... I can understand collecting things, afterall, that's why we're all here, but multiples of identical items in a collection, that's a bit too extreme for me
metaljesus Posted August 27, 2010 Author Report Posted August 27, 2010 I guess he takes pleasure in the very (VERY) small variations. And probably knowing the history of each one.

Look at how DeBoers controls the diamond market. All Mike Wood has to do is sell one or two of at an inflated price at auction to his friend, then his other 17 jump in value.
sneed12 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 He doesn't just collect milsubs either: http://forums.watchuseek.com/attachments/f7/191896d1244144135-rolex-mil-sub-969-jpg http://forums.watchuseek.com/attachments/f7/191899d1244144135-rolex-mil-sub-1024-jpg
