geo1nah2a Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Thank you for the review and pictures. Care to comment about the dial finish?
deniz21 Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 this shows again how good this version is sometimes i wear that one from my brother in law wich i bought him btw a friend from him has the gen, and when he saw the rep from him he was freakin scared and a few hours later he calld me to find him a nice two tone sub
FxrAndy Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 nice comparison, the crown guards on the rep look bigger or ist it just me?
Jkay Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 The replica presented here is the 2010 v5 (ala Trevor), not the cartel v5 Ultimate (BK/Noobfactory/Cartel). Thin hour markers, flat pearl, and flat-topped bezel insert triangle are the tells here on the version. I'm surprised you didn't mention that the insert on the rep stands proud of the bezel. It's another sign of some of the true v5 (not cartel v5) models.
parga Posted September 12, 2010 Author Report Posted September 12, 2010 Yep you nailed it. It's a Trevor V5. Jkay Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 nice comparison, the crown guards on the rep look bigger or ist it just me? I think you are right. I see the same thing.
P4GTR Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 hows the lume? Is it a huge difference? Any luck with waterproofness? Awesome review, I might have to pull the trigger on a DSSD finally.
stolikat Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Great review. I agree with the OP the crown guards on the rep are definitely bigger.
krpster Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Great comparison. What a fantastic looking replication. May need to get me one of these. I've been on the fence since about and with all the crazy activity around the many versions I got scarred away. Looks like it's sorted out now. Thanks.
simonporsche Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Good to see Trevor turning out to be a good source. What serial number does it have?
plaifender Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Trevor's serial number is M660304 great pics parga.. wish you had gotten some side profile shots crown side as well as HE valve comparison shots. .maybe some bracelet shots as well comparing the clasps if you still got access to the gen.. those shot would be GREAT!

plaifender Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 I wanted parga to confirm his serial was a match with yours to prove consistency. If parga's watch is NOT a M660304 serial version.. I'll give you a dollar... haha Never been any questions or confusion about which serial number characterizes this version, but we'll wait for parga to confirm, if it'll make you happy

Jkay Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Bad news about your image host nuking the photos, Parga. Did you know you can upload them to the board directly for local hosting? Use the Full Editor and then the Browse/Upoad buttons at the bottom of that tool.
simonporsche Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 nice comparison, the crown guards on the rep look bigger or ist it just me? Also, notice how on the gen the 5 minute markers on the bezel insert don't line up exactly with the dips on the bezel teeth like trevors rep.
Flippster Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 nice comparison, the crown guards on the rep look bigger or ist it just me? Is it just me or is the top of the pearl triangle a bit curved on the Gen. I thought it was supposed to be flat...
plaifender Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Is it just me or is the top of the pearl triangle a bit curved on the Gen. I thought it was supposed to be flat... Yes it's curved and is supposed to be as such. The rep is flat..
Flippster Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Yes it's curved and is supposed to be as such. The rep is flat.. Thanks. The dial marker rims on Trevors look very good!
mjmurphy926 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 How does the "feel" of rotating the bezel compare? BTW - Great post parga!
