Gen Click Spring and Spring Bars

With so MANY aftermarket Rolex parts available these days, does anyone know how to determine a click spring(for the bezel) and springs bars(for the bracelet to the case lugs)are actually gen or aftermarket??

I recently purchased a gen bezel and retaining ring and was told I needed the gen flat tension spring washer too. (luckily, the seller had one)

But to be perfectly honest, I'm not certain I know how to be CERTAIN the tension washer is gen.

Or the bezel, retaining ring, click spring or spring bars for that matter.

Does anyone have any suggestions or things I can look for??

I'm fairly certain my local AD friend will be able to determine this, but how to tell without having to ask a specialist??

Do these parts have numbers on them?? I'd guess the click spring to be of a heavier guage wire with a higher yield point, but.......I'm not certain.

Anyone have the answers to this?? Thanks guys.

I do not know (or care) about clickie springs (I am a 'slick top' watch guy), but I do know a little bit about springbars. :animal_rooster:

I have genuine and aft/mkt relax springbars and I can tell you this:

Swiss made aft/mkt springbars are virtually identical to genuine and the springs do not get weak after a few ins and outs.

Most of the Asian made relax spec springbars I have seen were junk.

I have to mark the genuine springbars with a Sharpie if I have the swiss aft/mkt and genuine out at the same time.

I still can't bring myself to write ro..., ro..., rol...

I get nauseated.

Remember the relax motto:

No Parts For You! :bones:

Automatico...thanks for that info.

Would you happen to have a link as to where you purchased your High Grade Swiss Relax spring bars??

I'm in need of a pair for my Relax Submarine. :victory:

You can get them from Ofrei. Go to the Springbars page, or you can search Rolex springbars. they are identical to the Rolex and cost 4.00 USD each. OFrei has a 15.00 USd minimum on orders so I ordered 4. I would assume from the way the ads are worded, they are sold individually not in pairs. Parts number FB-7895

I've gotten them from Ofrei and genuine from Clark's. They seem to me to be the same high quality. I think Clark's has both gen and high quality aftermarket, depending on his inventory. And no minimum.

I use the ones from WO990. They are pretty good and fairly stiff springs, but they have rounded tips. The rep 2mm bars have very weak springs but nice long flat ends, so they extend right to the outside edge of the lug holes. There is nothing like the sound of a set of gen spec spring bars snapping into place when you are installing a bracelet.

@automatico - excellent website. i assume the prices are reasonable since you recommend them. I have to set up a user/pass to be able to see the pricing. I'll do that tomorrow when i have some more free time. I could use some gen spec bars for my 6265
