DW 7032...Show me your movement clips!

Is the DW case made to accept the gen Valjoux 7734 movement or generic replica movement like an ETA 2836-2 or 7750?

What movement are you using? What type of clips are you using? Are they too long? too short? Too big? too small?

Need a little more info to help you out :victory:

The DW case is meant for a gen 7734, which is what I have (complete with 45min totalizer). The problem I'm having is that the movement sits too low inside the case which makes the groove on the case for the clips too low. No matter what clips I use, there is never enough pressure exerted on the movement to hold it in place. I think my case may have a manufacturers flaw.

I make special movement clamps ('clips') out of feeler gauges...

1...Buy a set of cheapo valve adjustment feeler gauges.

2...Find the thickness you need.

3...Drill the hole for the screw first.

4...Cut the clamp to size around the hole with a cutoff wheel in a Dremel tool.

5...Smooth the edges, bend the clamps if needed.

6...Install them.

I got the movement to stay in place by stacking clips, as Justasgood suggested. After placing the hands, I've found out that my movement is basically dead. The chrono doesn't work and the seconds hand doesn't tick away. Yet, the hour and minute hands keep time. I think I've had it for this project. :black_eye: Maybe somebody else would like to take over?

On the other hand, this project went smooth as butter...

Thanks, everybody. I'm glad that there's some Tudor love here, unlike that other site.

Wow very nice, what parts did you use?

Here are the specs:

  • rep Daytona 116520 case
  • gen dial and hands
  • swiss 7750
  • DW 6263 Daytona bezel (it fits!)
  • Clark 118 (I'm not a fan of sapphire crystals)

Here's another Tudor I put together:

specs:

• gen dial

• gen hands

• rep case (I think it may be a Yuki)

• rep bezel insert

• Clark 125

I'm not much of a Submariner guy, but I really love blue Subs. That looks great! (And so does the Pre-Tiger.)

I know that there are some guys on RWG who have been gathered more than one 7734 in preparation for their 7032 projects. Hope you get your movement fixed, or find a replacement in good running order.

I didn't think the hands were gen. But, the dial is 100%. Seller of dial and hands are two different people.

Yep looks genuine ;) I youre looking for the right snowflake hands, order them at wholesale on ebay.

I know most of the people here don't like there buisiness but to me there always been fair and the snowflake hands they sell are good reps with the right size.
