I just got ahold of the two-dvd set of Scorsese's documentary on Bob Dylan ('No Direction Home').

I'm only an hour or so into it, but it really is awesome....

@gioarmani: I've always harbored the same lustful urges concerning Louise Brooks from the first time I ever saw her on the screen. I've run into one or two 'perfect clones' here in Paris, but was unable to live out my dream.... Still a total sucker for that look, though :-)

@truzement:

Where oh where does that avatar pic come from?

I have the impression of having dreamed it in another life.....

Same thing for Room-mate's (whom I haven't seen around for a long time...)

Both are movies in themselves.

I've wanted to [censored] Louise Brooks since I was 15.... Mmm...

Yes, and as I said above, who wouldn't?

They say that she was as intelligent as she was beautiful.....some think she was the most photogenic woman in the history of cinema....

Can't resist evoking her image:

I'm so disappointed that no one metioned two all time greats in "Behind the Green Door"' and "Debbie Does Dallas". I guess I'm the only real movie critic here that enjoys, how can I say it, butter somewhere and a lolipop in my mouth. :bleh: . Which leads me to another classic in "Boogie Nights".

That avatar (I think) is Rowan Atkinson (famous worldwide as Mr.Bean) in the great British comedy Blackadder. I seem to remember that from one of the episodes. Great series :thumbsupsmileyanim:

As for women in cinema, a friend of mine seems to think Catherine Deneuve is one of the 5 most beautiful women of all time. Oh well, she's way too old for me now :Jumpy:

Tastes in women change all the time, after seeing Penelope Cruz in Volver recently, she's the one right now :wub: She gets topless in Abre Los Ojos too (she played the same character in the Hollywood remake Vanilla Sky). Great actress in her Spanish language movies. :yeah:

I won't do what Neil did and dump the contents of my DVD database here :D

Got a soft spot for From Russia with Love. Having watched the restored Ultimate Edition recently I appreciated once more how subversive it was for a mainstream movie at the time.
