Could it be that the PAM177 is a bit more loud from the ticking of the movement, because the case, titanium, is more light weight than the 219?

yes

cheap movement, thin crystal, the density of the metal and i think titanium must resonate and some higher pitch frequency than normal steel

at least you know its working

Yep.. all of that above. The reasons why I would not own a manual wind ti rep anymore. Servicing did make it a bit more quiet on my former 177 though.

I just love the tune of a movement. As long as it is not a fast beat.

21k6 and below, it is melancholic to just listen time passing by, every movement a different tune

Yeah, sometimes if i'm trying to nap or something i'll listen to my movement ticking, love it.

I'm not bothered by nice clocks ticking away but this is loud. When I'm sitting in my office here all I hear is tick tick tick...

LOL, just picked mine up and it's really noticeable. I have a PAM Fiddy and it's been serviced by Zig and the tic is noticeable in a very quiet setting, close to my ear. This 177L is pretty loud though. Nice, but noticeable. :) tic tic tic tic tic

while the volume is probably not true to the real movement.

the soothing, rapid ticking is wonderful.

the mechanical beauty of automatics & manual winds.

primarily what sets these watches apart from droning tick that quartz produces.

Hey at least yours works, one of the new 177Ls I ordered came DOA. The crown-stem setup is poor, cant wind the movement at all.

Its a beauty to behold otherwise though, one of the best cases IMO. Though I cant comment on if the movement is noisy - havent heard it yet :-)

I can't say that my 177L is more loud then for instance my serviced 'swiss' DSN 112 ....

It is noticeable but that's about it, and I do like the ticking sound though :thumbsupsmileyanim:
