Eton Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 How did the RWD German do in the snow? Gute Frage Ubi!
hiker01 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Whew......what a day! Finally dug out, but the road in our cul-de-sac is still buried! Nobody could get in or out! The city doesn't have enough snow plow trucks to clean the whole town in 12 hours! I woke up to this......... Front stoop: Back porch: and then some: and cars thawing out after a freezing nite in the garage: At least the German RWD made it home after going thru this:
hiker01 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Holy crap that's a lot of snow! Yup! The worst I've been thru since I moved here! When I used to live in Northern Montana close to the Canadian border, this was nothing! For Nanuq, it's just a gust of Snow!
Eton Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Wow, thanks for the pictures...that's a GOOD dump of snow! Glad the 7 made it through okay, as well as the passengers inside!
jmb Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Love this pic... Kinda looks like F's makin' a bobsled run! I remember, when I was a wee shaver in MI, waking up in the morning with snow drifts high enough to where they were onto the roof!
Nanuq Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Fantastic photos! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Break out the snowmachines! Drag races in the cul-de-sac, baby!
Eton Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Fantastic photos! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Break out the snowmachines! Drag races in the cul-de-sac, baby! Now THAT would be fun!!!

chronos666 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Been lucky so far in Maryland this year, last year at this time we were over 100 inches, it's still too friggin cold.
browngo1 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Hats off to you guys! In the West coast of Scotland we get maybe 2 or 3 inches of snow overnight and everything grinds to a halt! Buses stop running, trains are cancelled, people stay at home because the conditions are too bad to get to work! It's an absolute joke over here, and every winter it's the same! I've driven 30 miles to work in the "snow" and people who live in the same town that I work in say they can't get to work!! The Scandinavians I work with can't believe it. They look at it and say "This is not SNOW!" Best of all was a few years ago, when we had maybe 6-8 inches, and they couldn't get the snow blower at the airport started because it was too cold!
Nanuq Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 When we get this much overnight... We just say SCREW IT!!! and go for a ride! But we have to be careful not to run into telephone poles
maxman Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Fantastic pics F ,looks like you had some fun.
chronoluvvv Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 ... Best of all was a few years ago, when we had maybe 6-8 inches, and they couldn't get the snow blower at the airport started because it was too cold! Tell me about it, up here in the PNW the airports ran outta de-icer a few years ago
