A shortened rep crown need a shortened rep tube. The best way is to screw the tube a little deaper in the case (arround 0.5mm)

To seat the rep tube deaper, the easy way is to chamfer the case tube hole.

About lug holes : personally I drill at 1.3mm. Most of the time 1.2mm is to tight.

I made a little blue print from the classic Rolex springbars specs for vintage Sub/SD/Explorer/GMT

Easiest and cheapest way is to just replace it with a DG 2813 - which is the slow beat Asian movement. Its sturdy and easy to replace.

Otherwise you can buy it off ofrei and the likes or ebay.

I just ordered one from Josh and will be doing the transplant when it arrives.

I still don't understand how those cg's look fat on that case! So the tube was shortened to make the crown more flush?

The case is the same for both I think and the same case is used for the 21j and eta clone movement... Only difference is the movement ring

Yuki's case is 450$, so if the Yuki dial fits this case....it's a nobrainer for me to use Josh's case..

It's back to collecting more parts for me.

I'd you look a few posts up you will see before your eyes the Tudor dial in this case

Fits lovely!

So tempting to do one of these, but my wife says we must feed the children soon. :g:

Ah I see, I wonder why it didnt fit that guys 1680 from josh. Maybe it was a movement problem or something, though the guy sounded really good who built it so the dial would be the only problem I could forsee. :bangin:

Traded my AP Black Themes for Frank's 5512.

Nice to read all the post history about my new watch!

Very happy with it... will wear it with love. :)

Only thing that it still needs would be new lug holes... guess I'll better not do them myself, though ;)

That is the first thing I did to mine! I used to be content with the small holes until I "knew better", now I can't stand to wear one until the holes are the right size. :whistling: It's all this forum's fault, too!!!

despite that size does matter, I agree ;)

mailed domi, if he can do this and how expensive it is, but strangely he has not replied yet.

Till he replies, I guess I am also safe to wear it with the little lug holes. ;)

Either I missed it somewhere in this thread or it wasn't addressed, but does this version accept a gen or aftermarket bezel insert as well as a crystal?

stop masturbation and trying to find ways and excuses,

specs of this watch are complete out, even if you modd, it looks as it is : just a fake.
