Original Scope
If you go to Sears online right now they have a typo and have Ipad 2 for sale at $69.00. I will have to see if they honor it. Just sharing the love. Scope
txcollector
and the 32GB for $179. That's not sold by Sears but by some other company. Going to their web site and their Sears store front the 16GB is listed at $740!!! (directly from Apple that model costs $499). Something's strange though. woof*
Might be more than a typo..maybe a phishing scam. See how sealed is spelled? seald lol
txcollector
I bought one just to check and the billing is done via Sears though. I'm still very suspicious but hopeful. The listing says NEW so ... I've saved all the pages though for my dispute later with Sears

I think they'll cancel it
txcollector
well now I've very suspicious since the low price ad is very poorly written. The same store front has another iPad 2 16 GB for a much higher price (higher than Apple.com) and a much better written ad.
daytona01
Just capture and print every detail of this order and something bad happens... dispute... lol
phillycheez
Kinda confused. Sears allows third parties to sell through sears website? Says its sold by GSM On Sale Never bought through Sears so I'm just wondering.
phillycheez
Looks like the fixed it. I can't add to cart anymore. On their actual site it was 699.99 Definitely a typo
txcollector
Kinda confused. Sears allows third parties to sell through sears website? Says its sold by GSM On Sale Never bought through Sears so I'm just wondering. This is typical practice with online retailers. Amazon started this marketplace option where you pay Amazon but a 3rd party company is the one that fulfills the order.
dbutlerman
I ordered one and paid with my AMEX. If there are any issues I'll get it resolved. I'll keep you guys posted...
z80
Well, I ordered one.. put it on my AMEX, so I should be protected if it's bogus.
txcollector
bought with Paypal. Not an issue to prove my side with them
deltatahoe
the 16 gig page has been taken down, but i managed to check out with the 32 gig version. i give it a really low chance that i end up with a 32 gig pad 2 for $200, but i guess we will find out! deltatahoe edit to add: i paid with my mastercard. didn't see the paypal option (nice thinking txcollector -- that would have been even safer)
z80
The way I see it AMEX is safer if you have it available.. PayPal would actually hold up my money... AMEX holds up theirs. We'll probably either get refunded, get a cheap $75 tablet from China stating it's a "comparable replacement" or they will just disappear.
txcollector
I think that ad was a mistake, given how poorly written it was and considering the 16GB is also being sold by that company for a lot more. I contacted Sears and they said items sold on Sears.com are guaranteed by Sears, whatever that means.
deltatahoe
i just sent an email to Sears' Senior Vice President of e-Commerce (his email was on my order confirmation) expressing my concern about how the sale would be handled given it is not Sears selling the product; will be interesting to see what he writes back (if anything). deltatahoe
kbh
I bought one of the 32gb thru PayPal. It's definitely a Sears Web Site since I couldn't remember my previous password and had to get an e-mail from them to re-set it. Had live chat and everything. Certainly a phishing site wouldn't be that complicated.
txcollector
the part that concerns me is that when you check the order status on Sears.com the order doesn't show the product ID or name. The other guys that bought it, is that the same for you?
chevalblanc
Its funny 16gb link is not available anymore but 32gb link is still on
njespo
i ordered one as well and rec'd an email confirmation...it would be really cool if this went through but somehow i have my doubts
