japanic Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 You could also try Yuki's hand set for Tudor, they come in both white and "vintage" lume. For around 10 USD you can't go wrong. I've used the white lumed hands before and they changed from white into a a light ivory color in about 4-5 months.

I have some clarks tudor white hands on order, whats the best way to give them a very slight 'eggshell' tint? ive heard of using coffee, but not sure about the technique, i just need them to be off white. Thanks

japanic Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Avoid Wholesaleoutlet whenever possible. I order a set of so called "Tudor Hands" and when they arrived the set was for an Aquaracer 200m. If you do feel the need to order hands from Wholesaleoutlet, order the GMT hand set.

Thanks iodine + toaster oven. lay em flat on a piece of foil, dark orange yellow bake for a couple minutes, more white, leave em in longer. if you leave them in too long you will probably have to repeat the process as it will be too pale. iodine markers and hands for a minute or so. Omega Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Tudor hands are for Rolex wrong, they are totally flat! Rolex usees arched hands, just FYI... Flat hands have in direct sun a very high reflection, the arched only a minimum.
danza1812 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 My yuki hands were very yellow in colour, perhaps more so after the lume is charged in natural light, however I soaked them in household bleach for a few hours and got a reasonable match to my gen dial.

Omega Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Sounds tricky!! I think it is not really possible. Every small bent is on the high shine hand visible. The hands are done in a squeezing machine...but hey - everything is possible. Maybe it works! If you have a old hand set flying around just try it.

I think that if someone calls my watch out for having flat hands, then fair play! They are obviously not worth lying to! I'd quite happily tell anyone it's a rep rather than pretend it's gen or allow anyone to think I have been foolish enough to pay £3000 for a fake!

But if I see someone is wearing a Rolex Sub with flat hands, I know it is a fake! Because flat Tudor hands don't fit on a Rolex movement.
danza1812 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 That's what I'm saying, not many people know that much about Rolexes to the extent that the hands are slightly rounded, only experts like yourself. Therefore the chances if actually meeting you or any other expert are relatively slim.
