  1. I'd probably expect this model to pop up around Christmas time.
  2. I have the Aqua Terra with the 8215 decorated movement. I can't add anymore to what the other posters have said. I'm curious if the 9015 movements are really 28.8k? I was thinking about picking up a Portofino rep powered by the 9015.
  3. I've bought from them before. They sell your basic cartel watches, working under the same umbrella as Watcheden. Pretty much the same watches the TDs have. But m2u charges 25-30% more for 'Swiss' movements.
  4. I've seen that most TDs carry that model, though it's usually offered with the jubilee bracelet. I'm sure it wouldn't be any trouble for the dealer to exchange it with the oyster bracelet you want.
  5. I wonder if rose gold wears off a different rate than yellow gold? I've been craving a rose gold dress watch for years.
  6. In Ray Donovan, the title character gives his son an IWC Portuguese that's an obvious rep. There's a close-up of the watch when he hands the watch to the boy, you can see the chronograph hand ticking, while the small seconds hand is stationary. Also Ray gives his away a yellow gold Daytona as a bribe in another episode. That one was an obvious rep. http://watchesinmovies.info/?s=ray+donovan
  7. Why would they use the a7750 movement? Surely a 2836 or 24 would have worked perfectly well for a standard 3 hand piece. Unless there's some secondary function I'm not seeing.
  8. The engravings on the side were the dealbreaker for me. I couldn't live with seeing the xxx/2000 engravings on the case every day. But to each his own.
  9. Is it a sandwich dial? Has Omega attempted this before?
  10. That particular model has it's flaws: chrono pushers too thick, incorrect day/date font, 12 and 6 hour markers off, too thick overall, and most obviously wrong style hands. The movement with the seconds running at 9 doesn't have problems usually. The bigger problem is it does not accurately replicate the look of the genuine watch very well.
  11. +1 on the high cannon pinions. if they've got them, I'm in.
  12. If you really want to charge your superluminova, hit it with a UV light. UV flashlights can be had on amazon for pretty cheap. I bought mine for around 8 USD.
  13. Although it may be out of your price range, you should check this guy out: http://www.watchrecon.com/?user_name=peter.watchacc&has_image=1 If you do go for genuine croc and you won't regret it. I believe he does custom work as well.
  14. The new Tank Anglaise looks great, but do yourself (and wife) a favor and stick to stainless models. As far as the selection being mens, most are more sensibly sized between 36-42mm and the mid-sized are around 30-36mm.
  15. This is the one you have been searching for, and at a good price: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=842&zenid=b33cacd87892f9364eb247e732b21147
  16. That site seems pretty dodgy to me and the Submariner in the link you posted may very well be a genuine. This and the lack of a general product description is common tactic for any number of disreputable dealers. Stick to the trusted dealers.
  17. What i've been doing lately is: brushing with a scotch brite pad, then following with a light coat of car wax and finishing by wiping the wax off with a microfiber cloth. Brushed yet shiny, the best of both worlds.
  18. I think he may be referring to the newer ceramic SMP. I do agree that if repped as well as the Bond 50th anniversary it will be a best seller.
  19. That is a variant of the MKII Paradive. Check them out, Bill Yao is a great guy, he and MKII are located in Pennsylvania. http://www.mkiiwatches.com/watch-collections/professional-series/paradive/
  20. You should be wary of starting a pocket watch to wristwatch conversion project. Recently there was an article on askmen that outlines the risk, mainly pocket watches were meant to be sitting vertically, this may affect the timing; also most pocket watch movements do not have shock protection that is common to all wristwatches, so an accidental shock could break the movement. There is also the issue of such projects have little re-sale value.
  21. Jake's site is chocked full of useful stories and articles regarding Rolex. I believe he also has an article with pictures of Mao's Rolex; a yellow gold DateJust with an unusual bracelet, if I recall correctly.
  22. I have seen analogue/digital Breitling reps, but not the Aerospace. The closest I've seen is the Emergency rep; I can't speak for it's accuracy though, as I'm not a Breitling expert. http://www.watcheden.net/emergency-c-21-c-538.html These seem to be on the lower end of the rep spectrum, and probably do not have multifunction features controlled via the crown, as per the genuine.
  23. Looks like it could use a re-polish, but I'd be more concerned about the full stainless bracelet on what was originally to be a two-tone watch.
  24. If you visit TC's site he gives a very detailed explanation on his communications issues. The biggest of which is, when he visits China the government firewall prevents him from sending/receiving email. He also addresses many of the problems you may be experiencing. http://blog.tc-sub.com/
  25. Is it a Ceramic Sub or the older 16610? The latter may accept TC's bracelet. For a ceramic sub with the glidelock bracelet, you may have to email one of the TDs to buy the bracelet you need.
