  1. They pretty much carry standard cartel reps, and the prices for supposedly "Swiss" movements are inflated 10-20 percent for watches pretty much all the TDs carry. Be wary of operations that only accept payment through Western Union.
  2. An older IWC portofino with either white or black dial. Put it on a real croc strap and you will be set. White Dial: http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_190&products_id=8034 Black Dial: http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_190&products_id=8033
  3. The bay would be the place to start. But be aware that vendors selling case parts have started selling the case without the crystal, bezel and crown/tube; as a way of increasing their profit margins. But there are plenty of used DJ dials for sale in the 250-400 dollar range. A 2836 driven franken is a classic, but you could wait for the much anticipated SA3135 v2 to be released.
  4. 16200 franken datejust. 16200 case Gen dial TC datewheel ETA 2824 or 36 I've been told they can be had for less than a grand. Even less if you don't go with the gen case. But a gen dial can make it seem quite authentic.
  5. You think that was bad? You should watch I, Robot. The director/producers weren't even subtle with their product placements.
  6. I heard about month ago, that Mr. Clark is working on some gen spec sub/sd hands. That is, if you can bear the wait.
  7. I'd like to see the JLC Reverso 1931 or a decent PP Calatrava. Both are so simple.
  8. I'm pretty sure he was wearing a Breitling Aerospace.
  9. Breitling Superocean Heritage 46, chronograph or standard 3 hand. I've been told it wears smaller than other similar sized Breitlings, chrono: http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_144&products_id=3226 standard: http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_144&products_id=6553 You can get it on a matching brown rubber strap which is a great look as well.
  10. A.Adict, if you are interested in building a no date sub, I've got a 14060 rep dial I could part with...shoot me a PM if you are interested.
  11. I would like to know if an electroplated watch's finish will alway be shiny as if it were polished or does the previous finish affect the plating? ie will plating a brushed/beadblasted watch still look brushed/blasted or will it be completely smooth? I assume the latter.
  12. Have you seen the new vintage Ingy? They look pretty good, but the datewheel font is still wrong. http://www.puretime.co/product/ingenieur-stlaurens-vintage-black-dial-on-black-leather-strap-a2824/
  13. I've never seen those exact models but take a gander at these options: http://www.puretime....ry/chronomatic/ http://www.ttw168.co...ex&cPath=16_140
  14. About 4 months ago my father had a particularly bad case of stones. So much so that he couldn't pass them; not because they were large, but very small. Eventually he had to go in for minor surgery, where they went through his back into the kidney had sucked them out. When I visited the day after the surgery, the urologist showed me the stones in a vial and they looked like a teaspoon of golf course sand or granulated sugar.
  15. The best you can probably find is a franken in the sales section, but those are almost exclusively POs. Other than that, the most satisfying out of the box rep would be a noob factory UPO.
  16. It appears you get [replica] box and papers as well.
  17. I would be completely sold if it did not have the repeating 007 logo on the dial. Didn't they do this 10 years ago with the blue SMP?
  18. Gold foundries often use an acid mixture to dissolve the gold plating off cheap jewelry. You could try soaking it in vinegar or lemon juice, unless you've got something stronger...
  19. You should make sure your fingertips are black with oil/grease/graphite to seem authentic.
  20. I agree with anixshrk. A local watch-smith should be able to demagnetize it in a few moments, but you may have to leave it overnight for a timing test/regulation.
  21. That was kind of you. I was on a date and in my youthful arrogance was wearing a terrible rep chronograph. She called me out on it, due to the subdials not functioning and the big second hand sweeping. Needless to say the evening did not go well.
  22. You and me both. A BK TW uses a 2836 and a TC uses a 2824. If you put a 2836 into a 2824 case there will be issues with the stress on the stem, which could lead to bigger problems. Or so I have heard.
  23. Pretty sure Everest is based in Arizona.
  24. I have a TW and I'm wondering the same thing. It should be possible, the 2836 and 2824 have the same ligne size; but the 2824 in slightly thinner.
