JoeyB
Does anyone know how accurate it might be for a 6538, 5508 or 6542? raffles-time 6538 case Edited August 21, 2011 by JoeyB

alligoat
The lugs look pretty fat to me! Don't know if the big crown has a Rolex crown emblem on it or not. You could probably fit a 2846 in there. But Yuki's 6538 dial is 27mm, so it won't fit. So I guess it's a typical rep case- not copied from anything. JoeyB
No, the crown is sterile. The lugs look as thick to me as Yuki's do, both a bit thick. It is supposed to take an ETA 28XX movement. If it's close to my Silix case it could be something good.
Ronin
.... You could probably fit a 2846 in there..... He has rings to accept ETA, DG/Miyota/SeaGull. Personally, if you want slow beat, just use the disposable DG/Miyota/SeaGull. EVERY 2846 that has come across my desk has been in need of full service. On the 21.6 side, it is hard to beat the DG 2813 anymore.
Ephry73
You should order it with a signed crown. ken stocks those. The lugs can be trimmed to fit, but you're limited to the bigger diameter dials. Anything smaller than 28mm will slide up. E
woof*
That seems to be the biggest problem I find with no gaurd rep cases. All the dials I'm looking at from Ingod, Yuki or Ndt seem to be 27mm. Anyone know of lower cost 37-38mm no gaurd cases for 27 mm dials? Are the higher $ cases from Phong, J&W, or Yuki the only answer to build a vintage no gaurd watch?
Ephry73
Silix may be the other option, but I think they also take the 30mm dial. Try Cartel? I just took the CGs off myself and went with it. E
flex
My 5508 is bulit using the Silix/ Cartel as a base. I however am not satisfied. there are no accurate case-set on the market except for Phong's. Any new/ more accurate case-set would be appreciated. Here is a pic of my The Zigmeister bulit 5508. I softened the edge of the case.
JoeyB
Yep, Silix and the cartels take the 28.5mm dial, which is not a problem, I can make that dial. As pointed out, the lugs can be taken down some, and a bevel put to it. I'm wondering how the bezel is mounted, and the crystal. Gen-like, or the spring? Gasket/ring or glue? Ephry73
I'm willing to bet its a paper clip setup. Sillix has the inside of the dial opening at 30.4mm. A smaller dial than say 27mm may fall through. Haven't tested this, but in this case 1mm can make or break the build. E
JoeyB
I managed to get a gen dial to sit in my Silix case 6542, but it does just barely make it.
donerix
The PT 6542 case takes smaller dials. Even if you sand down the rehaut (to get rid of the wok) you can still put a 27.3mm dial in.
Ephry73
Good to know Eric. Ever get my PMs? E

Ephry73
Yes indeed. They are having issues stocking these. I wish someone would just sell the bezel arrangement E
what2
I have one waiting at the post office to pick up this afternoon, according to the seller all the large crowns have logos, the small crowns do not. If you want a large crown sterile he will send the case out to machine it out. I'll try and post some pictures tonight of the case.
Ephry73
Any updates on this? What type of bezel arrangement is in it? WHo is making these dials? I would love to find a correct 100m one for a decent price. E
