zaza
There are some minor scratches on my 2 year old DSSD and was thinking of having it buffed. Does any of our trusted dealers here offer such service? and if so, could you please refer me to one? Also, a couple of questions please: 1- Is it worth it? and what's the average cost. 2- If I have it polished, will it entirely remove the scratches? Does buffing thin the metal out? 3- Is there any difference between buffing and polishing anyway. Im sort of clueless. Thank you
asf
Do it yourself! I use a dremel and white jewellers rouge to do it.
sneed12
2- If I have it polished, will it entirely remove the scratches? Depends how deep they are and how aggressively you want the watch polished. The deeper they are, the more metal needs to be removed to eliminate them. Does buffing thin the metal out?Yes. TeeJay
As mentioned above, buffing will reduce metal away from the case (not really noticeably though, other than the change in the polish) Personally, I've always felt that a few scratches (even on non-vintage watches) makes them more personal, and in the past, I never used to feel a watch was 'mine' until I'd dinged it somehow
Jkay
Your bracelet needs to be re-textured and your polished surfaces need polishing. A talented modder will do a better job than the factory.
zaza
Thanks for the valuable opinions folks so do you know of anybody here whom I can assign the job to? and has anyone used the 3M sponge? I was doing my homework and read about it in some forums..

ninjagaiden
If you've got an old computer chassis lying around, practice on a piece of SECC and see if you can polish it to a high shine!
