To buff or polish a Rolex rep?

There are some minor scratches on my 2 year old DSSD and was thinking of having it buffed.

Does any of our trusted dealers here offer such service? and if so, could you please refer me to one?

Also, a couple of questions please:

1- Is it worth it? and what's the average cost.

2- If I have it polished, will it entirely remove the scratches? Does buffing thin the metal out?

3- Is there any difference between buffing and polishing anyway. Im sort of clueless.

Thank you :)

As mentioned above, buffing will reduce metal away from the case (not really noticeably though, other than the change in the polish) Personally, I've always felt that a few scratches (even on non-vintage watches) makes them more personal, and in the past, I never used to feel a watch was 'mine' until I'd dinged it somehow :D

easy.. get a refinishing pad for the brushed surfaces: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Titanium-Refinishing-Pad-Watch-Scratch-Removal-/190551078702?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5dbab72e a refinishing pen for the hard to reach brushed surfaces http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brushed-Steel-Gold-Refinishing-Pen-Refill-Rolex-/200656338944?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb80cc000

and then polish the polished (shiny) parts back to mirror finish with capecod. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-CAPE-COD-POLISH-CLOTHS-METAL-WATCH-SCRATCH-REMOVAL-/330619906983?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cfa7b6ba7

with a little patience you're watch can be as good as factory condition.

I recondition brushed Oyster bracelets with 3M 000 synthetic steel wool..just brush it with the grain with a little silicone lube and it works fantasic..I even used the method on my gen 16610's bracelet...works great and a guy fro TRF sent me the youtube link on how to do this.
