speedbird100 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 well, it's not too darn bad. and NO HE valve.... Enjoy, Joe
Mirkoray Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Nice..very nice..post more photo..please....
speedbird100 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 Not sure about the bezel, it's very loose though. Similar to my old DRSD from Josh. I don't wanna go prying on it. For $100ish fits my bill. I'm gonna throw a nicer bracelet on it and have the back engraved.
Nanuq Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Wow! I remember when you useta haveta "know a guy who knows a guy" to get something nice like this.
speedbird100 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Posted October 4, 2011 i know, so from first impressions I don't think it's really too awful bad. For $100, it's not a 1:1 but I thin it looks the part. I like that they chose the 7928. No date to deal with and so many variations in dials etc that almost any combo is correct. It's a 1680 case with dome crystal in case you're wondering. Fit and finish is nice, feels solid as heck. It came on a standard rep HEL bracelet with diver's extension. The mid-links are solid and that just drove me nuts. Also with the bracelet the case back is exposed and there is no engraving. I'm going to have the engraving done though. I sure hope they sell a ton of these and start repin' Tudors. There has to be a demand. Seems lately one out of ten threads in this section is Tudor related. I know the chronos are dodgy because you need that damned '36 ETA but no reason we can't have the Subs and Oysterdates. More pics to come soon, I'll snap a few tonight
Ephry73 Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 Good price too. Justin will have plenty of work on those casebacks for sure. E
krpster Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 Not bad at all. Thanks for sharing your experience.
superlative Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 For $100 it's good. But, it's so wrong.
jmb Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 A lot easier than the one I built! The markers seem a bit off but there does seem to be a lot of variations on this basic theme so I suppose that anything goes!
Gabus Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 The web site shows that it does have a HE valve, but it came without one?
giodlc Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 The web site shows that it does have a HE valve, but it came without one? +1 ??
speedbird100 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Report Posted October 6, 2011 no HE valve, it's a 1680 case. if your read back a bit you'll see i posted all the particulars
mojako Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 will this accept a clarks crystal or maybe a gen crystal?
Ephry73 Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 It should accept either. The clarks may be a bit on the thick side. If you go to Ofrei, they have a t-19(their house brand) that is pretty decent for less than $9 bucks The SK/KS actually looks like the right crystal to use. Its more like a service crystal and very clear. E
