what2 Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 came across this for sale, in amazing shape if it is genuine....
jmb Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 For one thing the dial and pearl-dot look wrong to me (looks like one of the painted on "pearls" found on the $50 cases) so I would be very surprised if any of the rest of it is "real".
drury Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 i agree, the pearl looks very dodgy ...
Nanuq Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 The 8:00 lume dot is too white and there's a big gap in the "equals sign" in the depth rating. Plus the case is way too square... looks like an early MBW case. It's as real as the "Puddy Tat" sitting on the shelf behind it. Is that dial straight?? I've heard it hangs out in gay bars. Just sayin'
woof* Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Case looks MBW-ish and the pearl really looks MBW-ish
what2 Posted February 21, 2012 Author Report Posted February 21, 2012 so maybe it is not worth the $2,000 he wants?
Guest zeleni kukuruz Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 so maybe it is not worth the $2,000 he wants? No its not! woof* Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 so maybe it is not worth the $2,000 he wants? What forum is it on?
turnipz Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) I'd think you'd be looking at 4x that price for a watch in worse shape, so no its not gen I would say. Edited February 21, 2012 by turnipz
Tagman26 Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 It's in awfully good shape to be a gen Tudor sun without a lot of aftermarket parts. Check the movement. It could be gen movement and aftermarket dial, insert and pearl. The pearl looks a little weird to me. Have him send pictures of the movement.
Nanuq Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 That's the wokkiest TZ Tudor I believe I've ever seen.
