dbutlerman Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Well after have 2 Frankens over the last couple years and immediately missing them as soon as I sold them - I decided to bite the bullet and go for the real deal. This is the first New Gen that I have ever purchased and had an excellent transaction and a great price. Here are my first few pics - I need to bust out the DSLR - but for now the iPhone will do:
b16a2 Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Very nice, the PO is a great gen to have...it'll be a timeless classic much like the 2254 SMP!
dbutlerman Posted March 9, 2012 Author Report Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks! And here are s'more pictures as promised:
Adeodatus Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Is this a gen? The pearl looks kinda off... J/K - dying of envy. Great watch, wear it well!
scotty Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 not crapping.....but the font on the datewheel looks different to other omegas, including my (4 year old) gen 45.5mm PO. Has Omega changed the date font?
maxman Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Timeless classic Indeed....congratulations Mike
dbutlerman Posted March 9, 2012 Author Report Posted March 9, 2012 not crapping.....but the font on the datewheel looks different to other omegas, including my (4 year old) gen 45.5mm PO. Has Omega changed the date font? Good catch. It is different. Your movement is a 2500C. Omega switched to a newer coaxial recently (2500D) and when they did, they changed the font on the datewheel. The main change they made is in the coaxial wheel. It's now more similar to their in-house 8500 movement. To everybody else....THANKS!
correctime Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Congrats on the purchase Brother. It looks great !!! Wear it with pride.
HartDoc Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 its a great watch I have the pumpkin version. I need to wear mine more often.
kemilyon Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Great 2500D Planet Ocean! I have owned it a couple of times, but have stuck with the 45mm orange. Still have thoughts of buying it yet again once in awhile.
lhooq Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Congratulations! Can't go wrong with a genuine PO.
krpster Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Gorgeous! Like has been said many times, nothing beats a Gen. Enjoy!
