Justasgood Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 My Gen Crystal and gasket are too big for my TC 16610/ The crystal and gasket just spin(easily) when installed and I can't press the retetion ring into place. Am I stupid.....don't answer that. Any help appreciated.
Star69 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 i just got my case yesterday - no problem here- tried even different caskets and crystal for the best mag - all fit like the should. sits the gasket with the right side in the crystal ? cheers, Frank
danza1812 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 My gen crystal and gasket just clicked on over the rehaut, it can be moved to line up the bubble, pressing the retaining ring on was another matter! I used a home made press and it was hard as hell but when on it keeps everything very tight.
jasf2002 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Mine works with a cousins gasket which is generic so no reason to doubt a gen would fit. What about the supplied crystal and gasket, or did you buy case only?
janeto72 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 r u sure the crystal is gen? you should be able to install the nylon gasket and crystal by hand. The retaining ring has to be pressed on.It is not easy to do and it probably won't go on easy. One side of the ring will go down first slowly. You will have to continue to rotate the case while slowly pressing down the retaining ring. They are a realbugger to install...go slow and take your time.
alligoat Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 I'd guess you need to try another gasket and maybe a crystal also. Like the rest say, the crystal and gasket should press on the case and then it's a tight press getting the crystal ring on. After that you need to check the TC case and make sure it's the correct width. Same old chinese/aftermarket conundrum- parts don't fit!
cib0rgman Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 I have a Clark's on mine and is a perfect fit. is very strange that your does not fit. maybe is a defective case..
mymanmatt Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 I agree. The crystal and gasket should have some resitistance when you try to align the cyclops. Loose is not a correct fit. Good luck
