Pictures are a bit fuzzy

I have always been advised to purchase an entire watch rather than a lose movement

proceed with caution

You can purchase a separate movement as long as the seller has a lengthy track record (of selling vintage Rolex) with near perfect buyer ratings. 98.7% does not install confidence, especially when accompanied by fuzzy pics.

Always a gamble, but that seems like a pretty good deal. Wonder how much work it would be to fit into my MBW 5513 case? I'm actually building a 5512. I have everything ready to go but for a movement. I was going to try to find a 2846, but this is interesting.

Look through the bad ratings and you'll see a few that have to deal with movements. Tough call, great price. If you can go dateless you may have a winner. Pay with PayPal and you may have some recourse if things go wrong. Caveat emptor.

something like that would make me wonder...why is the date mechanism missing?

And the condition of that rotor is rough which makes you wonder if the rotor axel is ok.

"something like that would make me wonder...why is the date mechanism missing?"

It has no date parts at all, no spacer, no nothing...may be a no date movement.

"And the condition of that rotor is rough which makes you wonder if the rotor axel is ok."

I see a lot of rotors like this. Maybe blistered from harsh cleaning fluid but the rest of the movement looks Ok. If it was rusty the set bridge etc would be the first to go and it looks good.

Rotor axles are only $10 or $12 but the old one has to be cut out from the top in a lathe (cut the cap off) and not knocked out from the bottom side like jiffy lube repair guys do it.

The movement will part out for close to $1000 because as rolex says "No Parts For You!"

Wasn't me, I'm not really ready yet.

A couple months ago I was though, and everytime I found one to consider..someone grabbed it.

Whoever bought it probably got a good deal :(

Thanks for the info Auto...always learn from your posts :)
