mrandazzo
As I promised I shoot some photos. Omega Seamaster 2054.50 VS Rolex Submariner 14060M COSC. Be patient as I prepare this set... In the mean while check this one, just for teasing...
mrandazzo
Why this review? Because I feel like these two watches are the most versatile watches I own. I wear'em often, instead of the Tudor 70330N for example, which I'm considering to sell for another Rolex...dunno yet...tempted by a 16700/10 or a 168000. Oh well, tempted even by the grail 16520 in white... but 8200 euros are too much money now. So let's start with the Omega 2054.50. Yes, not 2254.50, but 2054.50. If you google that, you'll find out what's the difference. I like this combo a lot. Never thought it could work, but once I swapped the bracelet...BANG! Worked to my eyes... Mmm that double ARed crystal! (yes, I forgot to mention this is a franken and that's a Chief double ARed crystal). Also yesterday has snowed here in North Italy, so today only frozing pics for you guys! Zoom out. That black wawed dial....Those drops on the bracelet midlinks And zoom in! Yes, you can say that. The dial is amazing. And the genuine lume is charging harder. You can notice it's already glowing. If you are a true WIS and nitpicker, you can notice the SEL gap between the upper left lug, and that the insert is after market. Those things are really disturbing... I'm considering buying a gen case on cousinsuk. They run for about 610 euros or so. Will it worth the investment? Yes and no. I would like to save some money for my next watch, so probably this investment will wait... Let's continue... Let's zoom in! Ahhh nothing like a gen dial! OH LORD MY EYES! WHAT HAPPENED! JEEZ!!!! Anyway, a gen tree. Oh that's better! And close up.... So, in the next post we'll see some Rolex eyecandy!
mrandazzo
So, let's talk about the 14060M... It's gourgeous. Period. Beautifully layed down in the snow. That black and steel beauty! Altough the superluminova dial doesn't charge quickly as the Omega.... Zooming in... A little more.... So let's see how does it look on the tree. So let's see a crystal comparison... Ok, got it. It's like shooting on the Red Cross. Let's see if closing up will get this any better.....nope! No ARed Crystal says: "Ok, double AR you won. But remember you can be scratched 10x more easily than me!!!!" In the next and final chapter we'll see those two beauties pose together for us! mrandazzo
Seamaster and Submariner together Wetty Seamaster of focus And Submariner on focus Even staring at this distance you can definitely see the 2 mm difference in the bracelet, the case, the dial. The Submariner is definitely smaller! Double AR. Can't fight that. And a crop... Omega in focus And finally Rolex in focus...ohhh that awesome endlink fit! Only a gen can do that! So here we are. This is the end. Hope you enjoyed this! Take care

bartkuip
Interesting comparison laying these two watches next to each other. I would preffer the Omega mostly because of the more beatifull bracelet. Tnx! Edited December 11, 2012 by bartkuip
mrandazzo
Great pictures! Details on the sub please? Fidhle, it looks nice 'coz it's a gen 14060m cosc from 2009 V serial :-)

I would preffer the Omega mostly because of the more beatifull bracelet. Tnx! The sub is smaller. You should try it on the wrist. They have pros and cons just like everything in life. The Omega is a stunning watch and gen lume charge very hard! Thanks everyone for the appreciation.
dluddy
Great comparitive review. I am still drawn more to the Omega but the Sub is a classic look beautiful photography
RG31417
Beautiful photography, both look great! The 14060 has that 60'/70' classic timeless look whereas the 2054.20 has a bit more contemporary modern look. Love the 14060 and its time period :-)
fidhle007
Fidhle, it looks nice 'coz it's a gen 14060m cosc from 2009 V serial :-) I figured it had to be! If there was a rep that good out there and I didn't own it already I was going to cry! If you ever sell it, let me know... :-)
By-Tor
Great shots. I'm a big Omega fan but nothing beats the classic steel Sub.
mrandazzo
Great shots. I'm a big Omega fan but nothing beats the classic steel Sub. Since this review I worn only the Omega as a daily beater. Tomorrow I'll switch back to Rolex. I consider them my two favorite watches, but I have to admit I have a favorite one. Sadly nothing has the size, charme, appearence, appeal, sexyness of a steel submariner.

If you ever sell it, let me know... :-) Lol dude! No 14060 rep looks good. Not even the wokky new ceramic one. I bet case and insert are 1 mm smaller than 16610 sub case. So no franken either. fidhle007
If you ever get a chance to take some measurments I'd love to see how they stack up to the cases currently available. It would be interesting to build a franken if a case could be made to fit...

maximo101
I like the Rolex better. 42mm seem too big for my liking. But that's just me. Enjoy your couple!
