@RT can I suggest that when you decide to close this poll you promote that one of these two watches will be reproduced 1:1 and the set up another Poll with just these two watches.

That way you will not only get a better idea of which watch to go for but you will also generate interest in the project again as the lenght of the associated threads has made the project a little jaded.

Ken

Thanks Ken... good ideal... This Poll I closed....

I will do a bit more research and hopefully discover watches which will garner much

more interest... as I don't see any of the choices becoming a blockbuster....does anyone ? :g:

We need numbers enough to demonstrate a high interest to justify a sizable investment

by one individual, into manufacturing a whole line of replicas.

I have seen better numbers in a group buy ....

{which by the way, this is Not. Your vote does Not obligate you to purchase }

121 total votes out of eight watches are sleepy numbers...

This is a fantastic opportunity that has never been in play before,..

Before this, manufacturers simply decided what we wanted for us,

as well as the flaws that we would just have to live with.

Well, Now We have a chance to develop a solid relationship a Premier

Dealer and Manufacturer...

Think about it....

If we can do this right... we will have the power, not only to

click and produce any watch we want, but we can also have the flaws

that we all hate on the current releases fixed...

So everyone, drink the stimulant of your choice and wade in here...

we need Full Participation, not only in ideas, but in helping to locate photos,

post and answer questions....

If this is about volume sales, there is no doubt in my mind that if Jay reps a "ultimate" 1:1 modern SD, he will sell more than enough to make a nice profit....

....but I would rather see somthing less "common" be rep'd...

The problem with that is the Law...

I believe that manufacturers are purposely creating watches

which are off by certain degrees.

We may be able to do that,.. later and off the radar... ;)

As for now he's seeking a new model for release....

By the way, nice Chopard Dadog.... ^_^

??????????????????????????????????????????????

is this not enough interesting?

:bangin:

110 posts, 1956 views, but only 151 votes. I think the 'not enough interest' comes from 'not enough people voting for one watch, let alone all of the watches'

For this to be viable for the manufacturer, you need to see a LOT more interest than 151 votes for ONE watch even i think.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for taking the time to do this. You've been on a great roll! I too share your suspicion that the rolex flaws seem so obvious as to be intentional. But other watches such as Cartier and Panerai seem to be replicated close to 1:1, as do other Rolex models. Thus, I find it hard to believe the CGs on a sub are the line not to be crossed. I would suggest a pow-wow with Jay to see his interest. The SD would sell like crazy, and we don't REALLY have a rep of it right now from main stream suppliers to my knowledge (i.e. something not in a sub case/bezel) so he could market it.

I also thought very hard about quality watches that don't exist and are simple enough to do (Rolex excluded). I agree with TTK that the GP is perfect--a sports watch that is from the last "big" house for which no reps (at all--correct) exist. 1:1 there will be pleanty of interest there too. It got my vote.

Cheers,

Steve.
