dusk Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 The box, paperwork and service docs were 'lost in floods' This looks like an imitation (to me?) that is being sold for half value of genuine. Just as an aid to newbies to watches could someone break it down? Description is bleating in about dishonest people which must raise suspicion. I've just ordered two reps but i paid rep price which is fantastic. Thoughts on this? Description: Rolex Submariner, Vintage. (year 2000) Unfortunately papers & box lost in recent floods. This is a genuine Rolex Submariner which I have had from new in 2000. It was serviced and polished in 2008 and has been worn almost everyday I have owned it. (Service papers also lost) It is being sold, reluctantly, due to financial circumstances. (It has been re-listed as the previous buyer was trying to conduct a fraudulent transaction, therefore no e-mails or offers will be excepted outside of eBay). Yet again relisted due to 2 bogus offer. Please, serious offers only!
AKTime Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 See how off-center the pearl is? Insert looks like [censored] to me.
alligoat Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Watch looks gen to me- old style 703 crown w/ the tall crown emblem, bezel insert is correct for 2000 yr, dial is right and crown guards look good. Correct 93150 bracelet also
dusk Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 Interesting two opinions? Pearl looked off to me too? Camera/ lighting? If gen could this be a bargain?
pcardoza Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 I'm a relative newbie and that bezel pearl tells the whole story for me. No way is that a gen. If it is, I have reps that are better! ;-)
Max_JCW Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 In my opininion the watch is definately Gen. Dial, Crownguards, Crown Position, diameter of Lugholes look/are gen. I think its just the angle of the pics that make pearl look strange. If the price is low, it will be a bargain, maybe it's a stolen watch Gesendet von meinem iPhone mit Tapatalk
dusk Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 Here's a random circa 2000 no date I found on a search that had papers. I saw some differences
Grehale Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 £2,750 is a big gamble if it's a rep though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Grehale Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 For the record I think it's gen, where it's selling from there was heavy flooding recently, so it would make sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dusk Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 If gen 100% is £2750.00 a good price for a 2000? I'd prefer a date version but it would be difficult at this money
AKTime Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Looking again, the lug holes and crown shape do look really good. I still don't like the insert.
preacher62 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Looking again, the lug holes and crown shape do look really good. I still don't like the insert. Insert looks fine for an early lughole model. It is different from a late model insert. The 2 is very different.
lionsandtigers Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Being sold as gen because it is. Had a gen one a few years back. Inserts gen just the lighting. And $4500 is not a deal. It's actually on the high side for this model. Do your homework guys. There has never been a good rep of the 14060. This watch is legit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lukenorris2011 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) This watch is gen. Had a few myself.. Lions and tigers is right the ones gone though my hands have always been around these prices... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited April 4, 2014 by lukenorris2011
mcotter Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I'm on the side of Law/ order......It's legit w/o question!Best, mcotter
ArkoN Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I'm a relative newbie and that bezel pearl tells the whole story for me. No way is that a gen. If it is, I have reps that are better! ;-) Show me...
